Explore layout

I've got an animal layout today for my Exploring Cricut daily project!  Our zoo has some areas that are open, where some of the animals are out walking around where you can be up close to them.   I used the Nate's ABCs cartridge for my scene with the goat in the grass and the titles.  (Don't you just love the don't eat the grass sign on the goat diecut?)  The butterflies are from Give a Hoot.  We are looking forward to a trip to the zoo as soon as school is out-these pics are from last summer.

Mother's Day layout and blog hop (for Exploring Cricut)

We are having a Mother's Day blog hop at Exploring Cricut today, so welcome!  I have the entire blog hop list at the bottom in case you get lost.  I made a layout for the pics I plan to take of me and my boys (hopefully while they are taking me out to lunch!  They usually make me breakfast in bed, but I draw the line at taking photos then!).  I used the Celebrate with a Flourish cartridge for all my cricut cuts-I think every mom deserves some chocolate, strawberries, and flowers!  The print papers and journal box are from the Simple Stories Vintage Bliss collection.

Mother's Day card (for the BBTB2)

I've made the cutest Mother's Day card using Create A Critter 2!  And Mother's Day is the theme of the BBTB2 challenge this week!  I wanted to make my card with CAC2 because I got this cart as a Mother's Day gift for my mom!  It was supposed to be a secret, but I had to spill the beans when she was thinking about buying it herself at the recent sale at Joann's!  Whoops!  So she won't be surprised but at least I know she likes it already!

The print paper is from the American Crafts Hip Hip Hooray 6x6 pad and the outside sentiment stamp I bought at Hobby Lobby long long ago.  The inside sentiment is from a My Pink Stamper set.  I just loved the cute little birdie bringing the mom bird a flower-I've planned this card in my head ever since I bought CAC2 (which is totally worth the investment if your on the fence-it is a REALLY great cart!).

International Walk to School Day layout

I made a layout for some pictures from our elementary Walk to School Day (see bottom for what that is), using my new Suburbia cartridge and the Pooh Font for my title letters.  I was going for kind of an old-fashioned collage feel to the layout and the image of the little boy and the vintage camera on Suburbia were perfect!  I'm really excited about this cartridge and have lots of layouts planned for it!!!

My paper and the globe sticker are from Echo Park's This and That Charming collection.  I love the newsprint paper on the photo mats, and thought that added to the vintage old scrapbook feel I was going for.  Sorry the pics are so dark-spring has retreated and left us a last blast of snow and lots of rain (and no sunshine for taking pictures)!  It was 85 degrees on Monday and by Wednesday the temperature was in the 30s!    I'm going to link this to the Celebrate The Occasion anything goes challenge this week.

Our elementary school is trying to help students be healthy by encouraging walking to school for those who live in the immediate neighborhood.  In the spring and fall, the walking school bus gets many kids walking or biking, supervised by volunteer parent walkers.  The whole school celebrates International Walk to School Day in the fall with an all-school walk to school starting at a local plaza, accompanied by the high school drum line!

Ruff Day Card

Here's another card from the set I'm making, using the  Create a Critter cartridges.  I got the idea for this one from the sentiment, which is from a My Pink Stamper set.  The postage stamp background shape is a Nestablilites die, given to me by my lovely friend Sandy.  The print paper is from the American Crafts Hip Hip Hooray collection and I found the Kraft card base at Hobby Lobby.  The buttons are Stampin Up from the stash.
