Valentine wall decor

Happy Monday!  The BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks is a Valentine theme.  I have wanted a fresh Valentine themed decor piece for my entryway, so I made a cute wall hanging.  I found the saying on the Miss Kate Cuttables Holiday Phrases collection on cricut Access and sized it to fill a 12 x 12 frame.  You can see all the rest of the design team projects over at BBTB2 and link up a new project for the next two weeks!

Valentine "lovebirds" scrapbook layout

Happy Monday!  It's been an exciting weekend here in Kansas City, watching our Chiefs play in the Super Bowl!  My extended family had a huge party and we cheered our hearts out to see KC bring home the win! The grocery store pre-game looked like there had been a zombie invasion with empty shelves, so I’m pretty sure all the Doritos, Cheetos, Tostitos and anything that could be made into a dip along with anything that could be smoked got consumed in the super bowl party feasting!  There’s probably not a burnt end left anywhere in town, lol.  I know we ate our share!

Moving on to crafty things, the BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks is a Valentine theme, since Valentine's Day is coming right up!  I have always wanted to use something from the Songbirds cricut cartridge, so I designed my whole layout around that title cut!  My husband and I usually try to do something fun for Valentine's Day, but I don't know exactly what yet, so I wanted it to be pretty flexible.  I've actually used this general sketch on lots of projects, as it adapts well to any theme.  You can see the rest of the design team projects over at the BBTB2 site and link up your creations too.  We'd love to see what you make!

Happy Monday!  It's a cold, snowy President's day here in KC!  I am just over this whole winter thing!  It's nice to have the day off with the fam though and I'm rewarding myself with crafty time after doing laundry :).   I think I mentioned a few weeks ago that I'd been sick with bronchitis and ordered a whole bunch of Stampin Up goodies while doped up on the good cough syrup.  Truthfully, I wasn't even sure what I ordered later, so it was an exciting moment when the SU box arrived full of goodies, to see what was in there!  There were several new stamp sets, some new ink colors, embossing folders, and thinlit dies to use in my Big Shot.  Plus some free stamp sets for the SU Sale-A-Bration!  Such fun to play with!!!!  It was like Christmas all over again, lol!  I'm sharing two cards below that I made with some of my new things.  Hope you all stay warm and have a wonderful week!

Valentine Hearts

Happy Monday!  While it's been an icy cold last week in KC, my heart is going to be warm at least as Valentine's Day is coming this week!  Time to celebrate your special person....or persons, as I usually give my kids a little love too.  I know either me, hubby, or the kids will take some silly iPhone pics, so I've got my Valentine's layout all ready for hugs and kisses :).  I used the Wild Card cartridge as well as an SVG from Miss Kate's Cuttables.  I'm enjoying finding SVGs, now that I have a Cricut Explore!  The design team has layouts and Valentines you can see over at BBTB2 for our Valentine hearts challenge.  Hope you join us with a project!

I Heart You Valentine card

Happy Monday!  Do you have any special people in your life to make Valentines for?  There's a few days left to create something crafty to let them know how much they mean to you!  All you really need is hearts, which is our challenge theme this week at BBTB2.  I cut out some hearts to make this I Heart You card, using the Accent Essentials cartridge.  It was inspired by this card I saw on Pinterest, I just added a few more hearts for pizazz.  And it was super quick to make!  I hope you  all have a Valentine's Day complete with hugs and lots of chocolate.

You're tweet! valentine card

Happy Wednesday!  I'm a day or two behind...you'll be amazed to know that I somehow did NOT get the flu despite the sickness at home....don't ask me how that happened, but I'm very grateful.  I believe I've gotten my money's worth from the vast quantity of hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes I used last week!  Or maybe my flu shot worked, although the kids got flu shots too.

Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to make a child's Valentine card.  I dug out my favorite Create A Critter 2 cartridge and cut this cute little Valentine bird all in shades of pink.  I don't think my boys will object to pink if it's on a Valentine, although this one is more likely to go to one of my nieces.  Go check out the adorable Valentines over at BBTB2 and get creative this week!

Sweet layout (red and white project)

Happy Monday!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is a red and white project, which made me feel the Valentine sweetness....so you have my SWEET layout below.  It's all from the Artbooking cartridge (cut on the real dial size, since that cartridge has crazy weird sizing).  I added some touches of black for contrast.  For the challenge, the projects just have to include red and white and don't have to be Valentine.  You can link up a project over at BBTB2 and see all the designer's projects.

Love U valentine

Happy Monday!  I'm glad it's a new week, as we've been passing around the germs and I've been under the weather.  Hoping my immune system recognizes that we are starting fresh this week, lol! Today I'm sharing one of the Valentines I made for this year, since that is our BBTB2 theme this week.  I've been waiting for the right project to use the typewriter on the Flower Market cartridge and a sweet Valentine love note seemed just the thing!  There are some adorable Valentines to see over at BBTB2, so go take a look!

Love and Laughter valentine layout

Happy Monday!  It's a Valentine theme going at BBTB2 this week, since the big day is only a few weeks away.  I've got some Valentines to share over the next few weeks but today is for a layout since I know there will be some funny iPhone pictures by the kids on Valentine's day!  I used Create A Critter 2 because who could resist that Valentine owl charm?  Not me!  See more Valentine inspiration over at BBTB2 from the rest of the design team.

3D treat container from Artiste

Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to make a 3D project.  I don't typically make many 3D items since between 3 teenage boys and a crazy cat, paper decorative items have a ridiculously short life around here before disaster strikes!  But I made a cute little treat container from the Artiste cartridge that was super quick to put together.  Like…. I whipped out the whole thing (including stamping some decorations in about 15 minutes!  Go me!  My treat container was for chocolate Hershey kisses, so I stamped a few decorations from the CTMH A Chocolate Affair stamp set.  Because chocolate really DOES understand.  And makes almost any problem seem a tiny bit better while it melts in your mouth.  See what else the design team has come up with for 3D goodness over at BBTB2 and link up your 3D project this week!

Be Mine card

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a happy Valentine Day yesterday but today is the real holiday in my book because the Valentine candy left over in the stores is on sale!!!!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to celebrate National Gumdrop Day by using some kind of candy on a project.  I'm going to have to confess I am REALLY not fond of gumdrops…so I picked my favorite kind of candy instead-those candy valentine hearts with the sayings.  I am a total sucker for those things.  We can't even keep them in the house because I will eat the whole bag.  In one sitting.   My candy card below uses the candy hearts and title from the Simply Charmed cartridge.   I hope you will make some kind of sweet candy-licious project and share it with us over at BBTB2 and do go take a look at the design team's yummy creations!

Valentine heart Love U Sweetheart card

Happy Monday!  It's Valentine's Day next weekend-are you ready?  I need to STOP eating the Hershey's kisses and chocolate hearts….the chances of any being left by Valentine's Day is going to be pretty slim.  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is most appropriate-use a heart on a project!  My card uses the Lyrical Letters cartridge for all the cuts.  (Lyrical Letters has more than just fonts!)  This paper was a bit of leftovers from a few years ago, but I hoarded the last bits for just the right project and this was it!  Hope you will check out all the cute Valentine projects over at BBTB2 and link up one with us this week as you make that special Valentine for someone!

Whoooo loves you card (for BBTB2)

Happy Monday!  Did you have a good Valentine's Day weekend?  I had to work all weekend but I did get ice cream, BBQ, and flowers which cheered me up, even though it's cold and snowy here.  So our BBTB2 challenge this week is to make a shaped card of some sort.  I used Birthday Bash to cut the scallop circle card base and mat.  The rest of the card uses Create A Critter for all the cuts.  I had an owl from CAC left over from a Valentine project and I just started adding things from CAC and got maybe a little carried away with the tulips, lol!  (I think my longing for spring and temperatures higher than 32 degrees are showing with the tulips…)  There is a whole variety of shaped cards to be seen over at BBTB2, so check out what the rest of the design team has done and I hope you have a marvelous week!

Valentine layout

Valentine's Day is coming up!  I've got to make a few special valentines for the fam but in the meantime I made a Valentine themed layout using one of my favorite cartridges, A Child's Year.  (I know I'll be taking some sweet pics of my boys and my hubby!)   The silhouettes, LOVE, hearts, and font are all from this cartridge.   I'll share a few valentines next week when I get them finished.  Unfortunately, the valentine candy is also almost finished-I should know better than to buy any candy early, LOL!  I cannot resist those little candy hearts with the sayings!

Owl be Yours valentine layout (for Exploring Cricut)

Happy Valentine's Day!  It's sweet to be sharing the daily project at Exploring Cricut today, because I have a Valentine layout for Valentine's Day!  My layout will be for pictures of the elementary school Valentine's Day party, but it would be pretty adaptable for lots of occasions, by using a different stamp or subtitle on the journal box.  I used the Create A Critter 2 cartridge for all the cuts.  The print papers are from the Doodlebug Sweetheart collection (the photo mat print paper has valentine words on it).  The photo mats are sized for 4x6 pictures, like most of my layouts.

Cricut:
Create A Critter 2-title cut at 3 1/2 inches, owl cut at 3 inches, tree cut at 5 1/4 inch, apples cut at 2 1/2 inches, 2 inches, and 1 1/2 inches.
Paper-Doodlebug Sweetheart collection prints, CTMH solids
stamp-Stampabilities
brown chalk ink

Keep checking our daily projects each day at Exploring Cricut-let us know what you like!  I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day with lots of sweetness, hugs and good candy!

Love valentine card (for Exploring Cricut)

It's almost Valentine's Day and we are having a blog hop at Exploring Cricut!  Can you feel the love?  You should have arrived here from my fabulous DT sister Julie's blog.   Our challenge this week is to make a Valentine project and include a jewel.   I love making Valentines and this is the perfect challenge to get you started on making one for that special person!  Because you only have 4 days left-tick-tock!  My card uses Create A Critter 2 (I heart that cartridge!) for the cloud raining hearts and the LOVE sentiment below.  As soon as I saw this Doodlebug print paper, I KNEW I wanted to make this.   It is just ridiculously cute (the whole 6x6 pack)!

I Heart You Valentine card (for BBTB2)

Valentine's Day is coming!  This is one of my favorite holidays because you get things like chocolate and flowers and you can give kisses (chocolate or otherwise) to those you care about!  Plus you get to give cute little cards!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to make a Valentine project, including a heart, with your cricut.   The BBTB2 team has some great Valentines for you to see!

So for MY valentine, I used the Create A Critter 2 cartridge to cut my little bear with the heart and Elegant Edges to cut the scalloped ovals in the background.  I love the stamp "I Heart You", which went perfectly with my bear!  The cute heart bg paper is from Doodlebug.

Wild Card valentine

Happy Valentine's Day!   We are going to an orchestra concert tonight that Son#1 is performing in, so it will not be very romantic, but that's life with kids!  At least my honey will get this card.

This is my first time trying out Wild Card.  I've had this cartridge for awhile but was somewhat puzzled by figuring out the sizing, so I never used it.  This my first time trying to make an envelope with the cricut too and it is SO pretty with it's scalloped edge!  I cut the envelope liner out also, and it looks very cool with big polka dots!  The heart with the arrow and the sentiment inside are also in the Wild Card handbook, although on other pages.

Envelope with scallop edge and scallop circle card:

Inside sentiment:

So you can see the polka dot envelope liner:

Cricut:
Wild Card-all cuts
Paper- prints are from DCWV All Seasons stack, solid red CTMH

This cartridge is a little tricky on the sizing and figuring out what pieces go where.  I cut the envelope first, using fit to page, which gave me a 5 inch size, so that's what I used for the card and all it's parts.

I'm going to link this to the Celebrate the Occasion valentine challenge this week.

luv bug Valentine card

I am making a set of cards for a gift, using the Create a Critter cartridges for the cards.  This is the Valentine card I just made for the set.  The cute Valentine bug is from Create a Critter 2-isn't she sweet?  The happy paper is from a 6x6 pad by American Crafts from the Hip Hip Hooray collection and the stamp is from a My Pink Stamper set.

Happy Valentine's Day layout

Such a fun happy layout for today-it will make you smile!  I used the Create A Critter 2 cartridge for all of it.  It will be for pics of the elementary school Valentine's Day party next week.  I cut a bunch of these adorable critters to party on my page.  The titles are also from CAC2.  I said I was not going to buy any Valentine's paper, and then this fun Imaginesence paper caught my eye and I was hooked :) in a moment of weakness...lol!  But it was totally worth it and paper, unlike chocolate, has no calories!!!

Cricut:
