St Pats Lucky Charmed layout

Happy Monday!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is a St. Patrick's Day theme and you can also meet challenge requirements by just using the color green on a project.  I've made a St. Pats layout for the pics I'll be taking of Son#2, who will be conducting his high school marching band in a St. Patrick's Day parade, so he will be front and center in the pictures!  I used the Family Album cartridge for the clovers and downloaded a font from da fonts for the title.  Being able to use any font downloaded to my computer is another feature of my Explore Air 2 that I'm loving!  I'm telling you, I went crazy downloading fonts to my computer!!! I hope you will link up a project over the next two weeks and the design team has some charming projects full of the green for you to see over at BBTB2 for inspiration.

St Pats parade layout

Happy Monday!  I am hosting the challenge over at BBTB2 this week and instead of a specific cricut cut, I selected a color challenge to use green to celebrate the upcoming St. Patrick's Day.  You still need to use a cricut cut on your project, but it does NOT have to be related to St. Patrick's Day at all.  St. Patrick's Day is big here in KC, and Son#2 will be marching in a parade with his high school band.  Knowing there will be some parade pics taken, I made a layout.  I know the parade pics will be very colorful and busy, so I was trying to keep my layout relatively simple.  I hope you will go over and see the design team projects at BBTB2 and link up one of your own this week!

St. Patrick's Day card

Happy Monday!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is shamrocks, as St. Patrick's Day is coming up.  I've been sending occasional little cards to the college freshmen in my fam (son and niece), since they like getting mail from home.  For this challenge,I made a St. Patrick's Day card featuring the coffee go cup from the Artistry cartridge and added some shamrocks from CAC2 on the label.  I'm sticking in a gift card for that all important Starbucks fix...which should bring a big smile!

Lucky layout

Happy Monday!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is St Patrick's Day related-use a clover or the word lucky. I did both, so I'm feeling like an over-achiever, lol!  (Plus, you see the shamrock background paper?  Oh yeah!)   I made a layout for some of my pictures from last year's St. Pats Day, when I got to march in the NYC St. Patrick's Day parade with Son#2 and the high school band.  I took LOTS of pictures, because how often do you get a chance to walk down the middle of 5th Avenue in NYC with 2 million people watching?  It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience.  All my cuts are from the Artistry cartridge.  Hope you will join us this week over at BBTB2 and see the design team projects for inspiration.

3 shades of green

Happy Monday!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to use 3 shades of green.  I happened to have this Doodlebug print paper with several shades of green in the stash, which got my layout started.  Son#2 will be performing with the marching band in the Snake Saturday St. Patrick's Day parade next month, so now I'm ready for the pictures!  I used the Flower Market cartridge for all the cuts-loving the wreaths on this cart!  Check out the BBTB2 designers projects and you can link one up as well.

Wearing of the Green-St Pats Parade layout

Happy Monday!  We have a St. Patrick's Day theme at BBTB2 this week.  And guess what? It so happens that Son#2 and I are leaving for New York City tomorrow and will be marching with his high school band in the St. Patrick's Day Parade!  Seeing the sights in the Big Apple should blow our minds.  Toto, we're not in Kansas City anymore, to paraphrase Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz!  (For the record, most of Kansas City is actually in Missouri, not Kansas, so I can't quote Dorothy exactly.)

My layout for the parade pictures uses the adorable leprechauns from Simply Charmed and the clover border found on the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge.  My title font is from CM Stork's Delivery and I did a little doodling on the letters.  This paper is from a super-old DCWV pad in the stash, but was perfect for St. Patrick's Day!  Go see what kind of magic the design team over at BBTB2 have put together and I hope you have some fun, wear some green, and have a very lucky week!

Lucky card (for BBTB2)

Happy St. Patrick's Day tomorrow!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to use a shamrock.  I used the card feature on the A Child's Year cartridge, cutting the first piece (the print paper) which has the cool scalloped edges and shamrock cutouts at 5 1/2 inches and then used the shift key to cut the solid green undercard.  I added a little shamrock (one of the icon cuts) to the inside.  The sentiment Lucky comes from the Family Album cartridge, cut at 3 inches.  I hope you all have a fabulous week with some spring sunshine and fun!  My boys are on spring break from school this week, so I am really looking forward to hanging out at home with them.  :)

St. Patrick's Day wall hanging (for BBTB2 and Exploring Cricut)

Happy Monday!  It's supposed to feel warm and springy here today, which will be nice for a change since it snowed last weekend!  St. Patrick's Day was the theme for both the Exploring Cricut and BBTB2 challenges this week, so my project is dual purpose.  I like to change the little decorating accents monthly in my house by switching up the candles, wreaths, and wall hangings to fit the seasons and holidays, so I made a a St. Pats wall hanging for my foyer, using A Child's Year and the Phrases cartridges.

So for March, I've got my green candles in the living room, shamrock towels in the hall bath,  along with my project below.  (Sorry about the glare from the glass-I forgot to take the picture BEFORE I put it in the frame!  And it was such a pain to get it hung up that I wasn't taking it down!)  I love this silhouette of the boy with the shamrock on A Child's Year.  I was super-pleased to find the Lucky Day cut with the shamrock on the Phrases cartridge when I searched for "shamrock" on mycutsearch!

Luck of the Irish card

St. Pats day is almost here!  Hope you are all having a lovely week!  It's spring break for my kids, so we are enjoying staying in our PJs and hanging out at home.  It's bliss, I tell you, not to have to go anywhere!!!!  One of my friends is starting a new job very soon, so I'm sending her a good luck card with an Irish theme for this time of year.   I used the caterpillar on Create A Critter 2 with his awesome hat and bow tie-he's dressed to start a new job, don't you think?  (Maybe serving green beer and popcorn on Snake Saturday, anyway, lol!)   I found the background print paper in my scrap box of all places, but I think it is from a DCWV stack.

Luck of the Irish (for Exploring Cricut)

It's the Luck of the Irish challenge at Exploring Cricut, to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!  The project challenge is to include a shamrock.  There was no mention of leprechauns, but I decided to include one of those too!  Or rather, a leprechaun teddy bear from the Teddy Bear Parade cartridge, with his pot of gold!  My shamrock is from A Child's Year and the title is from Graphically Speaking.

I picked my title because I just feel lucky that life IS good most of the time-St. Patrick's day is just extra-lucky!  (Of course I'm sure it would all be even better with a pot of gold....what wouldn't?  Do you think Archiever's could work a deal for scrapbook supplies in exchange for gold if I won a leprechaun lottery?)  So come on over to Exploring Cricut and join us with a lucky shamrock this week!
