Eat More Pie thanksgiving layout

Happy Monday!  It's almost Thanksgiving and I'm feeling thankful to having family around my table to eat lots of delicious goodness.  My husband is going to smoke two turkeys to feed our hungry bunch (and hopefully still have some leftovers) and I've got lots of cooking and baking to do.

Our BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks is a food theme, which seems so appropriate for this time of year!  I found this "Eat More Pie" saying on the Turkey Squad collection on Cricut Access, which could not be more perfect for a food layout for my fam, as we believe in pie for all occasions (including birthday pie!).  Really I should make us all matching t-shirts saying eat more pie, lol!  The designers over at BBTB2 have some yummy food themed projects over there to see and you can link up a new cricut project for the next two weeks.

Merry Christmas!

Happy Thursday!  I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!  We had a wonderful day celebrating with family on Christmas Eve and flew out to San Francisco on Christmas Day for a family vacation.  We are sightseeing and enjoying the city very much!

This week at BBTB2, we are shared some of the Christmas cards we made for friends and family, so I have a included a few I made below.  I didn't get this post up in time for Christmas Day-just a little too much festive fun going on!  These are all scrap lifted from cards I saw on Pinterest.  I will go back and link these up to the originals on Pinterest when I get back from vacay next week.

Love you to the core apple card

Happy Monday!  It was a week of illness at my house but I'm happy to report that ice cream does, in fact, make everything better.  Sick people AND mom's mood, lol!  If they could only make a no calorie ice cream, I think a lot of the world's problems could be solved....ice cream for all!  If only it were that easy, right?

Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to use an apple.  My oldest son and one of my nieces went off to college this fall and they've let me know college students like getting mail from home!  So I'm planning to send both of them some fun little cards and packages every few weeks and I made this one with an apple for my niece.  I used my favorite cricut apple from Doodlecharms and paired it with this "love you to the core" stamp.  It's going to be fun making some cute cards to make them smile!  Take a look at the harvest-full of apple projects over at BBTB2 and make something cute yourself to link up!

summer theme

Happy Monday!  It's summertime and I'm ready to kick back with some cool drinks and summer fun. Since I'm hosting at BBTB2  this week, I picked a summer theme for the challenge.  The cricut cuts on my layout have all my favorite things about summer...sunshine, yummy treats, and getting wet!  The title is from an oldie but goodie cartridge-Stretch Your Imagination.  Go check out the designer's awesome projects at BBTB2 and link your own up this week.

Blue Hawaii layout

Happy Monday!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is in honor of Elvis' birthday-make a project that references an Elvis song.  My layout is reflecting the Blue Hawaii album.  I used the Life is A Beach and Doodlecharms cartridges for most of this beach layout.  Since I'm not going to get to go anywhere tropical this winter and it's been super cold and wintery here in KC, this will have to give me that tropical vibe I am wishing for.  There are some fun Elvis projects up over at BBTB2 for you to take a look and enter the challenge for a chance at a prize!!!!

New Years layout

Happy Monday and Happy 2017!  I hope you had a merry Christmas and happy New Year!  My Christmas was full of family and very merry, although I rang in the new year at work in the ICU.  I spent some time last week looking through the scrapbook of 2016-it was full of happy memories and moments.  I can't wait to see what this year's pictures will look like!

Our BBTB2 challenge this week is NEW: use a cut that symbolizes the new year or use a new tool or technique-pretty wide open.  Since I am a chronological scrapper and scrap my pictures through the year, I made a cover page for my 2017 scrapbook, using cuts from Doodlecharms and Accent Essentials to symbolize the seasons and Artistry for the large numbers of 2017.  The welcome is a CTMH stamp.  I hope your 2017 is amazing and full of happy memories too.

The Big Apple NYC layout

Happy Monday!  It has been a rather busy and stressful last week, so I'm glad to be starting a new one!  And I will have a whole box of marvelous scrapbooking goodies (including the new cricut Flower Market cartridge by CTMH) to play with because it's my birthday this week!  Ideally my birthday would also be a national holiday where I could sleep in, but that MIGHT be asking a bit much, lol!

Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to use a cricut apple on a project.  I love apple season in the fall when the Honeycrisps are in our grocery store, all huge, crunchy, and delicious!!!!  However, I am scrapbooking pictures from the trip to THE Big Apple (Son#2 and I went to New York City with the high school band last spring), so I used my favorite apple from Doodlecharms as part of the title on my page.  The city landscape from Plaintain Schoolbook reminded me of the NYC skyline in Manhattan, so I added it to the bottom of the pages.  Go see all the marvelous apple projects at BBTB2 and link yours up this week.

Happy Birthday layout

Happy Monday!  It's birthday time over at BBTB2 this week and I have several fun birthday layouts to share.  My extended family is big and we celebrate lots of birthdays together each year, so I make lots of birthday spreads.  The first one uses Birthday Bash for the title and Doodlecharms for the present and journal box.  I love a bright, colorful birthday page and the Doodlebug print paper was just the thing!

Last, I have another layout using the Artbooking cartridge-I'll show it to you with the picture added of my Dad and the grandkids all blowing out the birthday candles for his 75th.  I did a little stamping for the stars on this one.

Butterflies

Happy Monday!  I am hosting our BBTB2 challenge this week!  I am feeling all about spring, so I selected Tiny Winged Things as our challenge theme. This could be butterflies, bees, dragonflies…whatever moves you to create! I used the sweet butterfly from my beloved Doodlecharms cartridge for this birthday card.  The background scalloped circle and circle are from the Create A Critter cartridge.  Because this card will be for a teenage girl, I used the So Social stamp set from Stampin Up for the @birthdaygirl and #awesomeness sentiments.  (It's all about the hashtags and social media with my teens and their friends, lol!)  My card is happy and bright for spring and quick to make!  Join us by linking up a tiny winged project over at BBTB2 and see what goodness the design team has for you!

Very Merry Christmas card

Is it beginning to look a lot like Christmas at your house?  We are trying to get through this last big week of school-the tension of my teens during this finals week is off the charts!!!!!  But the tree is up and the house is smelling deliciously like evergreens, which makes me very happy.  (The cat may actually become an evergreen, as he is drinking the tree water with the tree fresh stuff in it!)  There is still much baking and wrapping to be done, however.  Below is another one of the Christmas cards I sent out this year, using my beloved Doodlecharms cartridge for the stockings and a square punch for the squares under each stocking.

orange you sweet fruit stand card, love you to the core fruit stand card,

Happy Monday!  School is in full swing after starting last week and I think all of us are in shock….homework and school evening events already!  I've gotta get my stash for the carpool line all set up (insulated beverage cup for me, e-reader, pens, emergency kleenex, and emergency snacks/H2O for the teens).  You never know who's going to practically pass out from having forgotten lunch or has a nosebleed before you get home!!!  Or announces that there are three forms you MUST sign TODAY right as you pull up to the school.  And have no pen.  Of course that has never happened to ME…haha.  It's certainly not going to happen this year because I will be PREPARED!

So, on to crafty business.  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is summer fruits and I have some delicious fruity cards to share.  I made these as a set, so I will show all three of them (although I posted the last one on the blog awhile back).  The fun Doodlebug Fruit Stand paper inspired all three cards.  Card #1 is full of orangey goodness with the orange slice from the CM This and That cartridge.

Cricut:

Happy Birthday layout

Happy Monday!  Are you ready for a birthday cake challenge?  Because that's what's on tap for this week at BBTB2.  We are heading into the "birthday season" at my house, as we all have birthdays in the next few months.  My birthday layout features the cake from the Family Album cartridge, which I jazzed up with a little Liquid Glass to make it really shine.  The title and orange accent banners are also from Family Album.  The super cute paper is all from Doodlebug, one of my most favorite paper companies.  Check out all the sweet and delicious cakes at BBTB2 and make something for the next birthday at your house!

Cruise scrapbook for the BBTB2 "Cool Down at Sea" challenge

Happy Monday!  I hope the sun is shining and you're ready for an awesome week!  I am trying to cram the doctor, dentist, and orthodontist visits for all the kids into this week before school starts and squeeze in some last minute summer swimming fun.  Even though it's the beginning of August, it feels like summer is over with school starting next week for the kids!

I've been putting together layouts for my cruise pictures from our two cruises this year and thought I'd show you some of them, since our BBTB2 challenge this week is "cool down at sea".  Each layout has the cartridges used above it and the picture spots are for 4x6 pictures unless otherwise noted and they are not in any particular order.  While I usually include the paper line, I didn't here, since this is a long post.  If you are interested in a particular layout's paper line, ask in the comments and I'll be happy to share.  I scrap lifted two of the layouts and I have the original blog listed where I saw the layout.  The rest of the design team at BBTB2 have some amazing projects to cool you off and make you feel that ocean breeze, so go take a look!

Wildlife layout

Happy Monday!  Did you have a good 4th of July weekend?  I think I'm going to need a day or two to recover from mine, lol!  Work was kinda crazy but the fireworks were awesome on the 4th!  On to BBTB2 business….the challenge this week is use a cricut tree, and there are so many to choose from that I had a hard time deciding which one to use.  I was scrapping some vacation pics from last year's trip to Rocky Mountain National Park and finally decided the tree from Doodlecharms was the one for my layout.  The tree and sun are from Doodlecharms and the border of moose is from Animal Kingdom, along with the title.  The camera is one of the badges from Camping Critters to finish it all off.  Hope you will join us with a tree project!

Flower thank you card (for BBTB2) plus a bonus Disney layout

Happy Monday!  I get to host the BBTB2 challenge this week and I selected flowers, since the tulips, iris, and daffodils are blooming here in KC.  There are so many cricut flowers to choose from that this should be lots of fun-check the BBTB2 sidebar for the rules!  I actually have two projects with flowers to share today, with this springy flower card being the first.  My happy little flower is from one of my favorite cartridges, Doodlecharms. I embossed the leaves with the Swiss dots embossing folder to add a little texture.   I was inspired by this fun Doodlebug flower filled paper!  The design team over at BBTB2 has a whole bunch of flowers for you to look at for inspiration and we'd love to have you link up a project this week!

Two layouts: Snow and Bushels of Fun (for BBTB2)

Happy first Monday of 2015!  Christmas week was super fun and busy- I hope you all had a wonderful holiday as well!  I had some fun scrapbooking cozied up in the basement in the relaxing week after Christmas, which was super nice!  I am bit depressed that the kids and I must stop wearing pajamas all day now that our winter break is over.  We're having to break out the thermals and polar fleece instead, because baby, it's COLD outside right now here in KC!

Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to use our favorite cricut cut in a project.  Oh my goodness-this was HARD!  I concluded I just can't pick a single favorite cut-it's sort of like trying to pick your favorite child…it's more like I have a group of several favorites for each season.   I'm showing you two layouts featuring one of my favorites-the barrel from Doodlecharms.  I have filled it up with leaves, hearts, snowballs, apples, and more in the past. I like how it can be customized with brads or eyelets and some inking to change the look.

Layout # 1 is a winter layout with my Doodlecharms barrel full of snowballs!  This will be for some winter sled and snow pictures.  (It also features my favorite cricut snowman of all, from CM Tis the Season, plus the stand of trees and sled from there).  The title is from the CM Cheerful Seasons cartridge.

Cricut:
CM Tis the Season-snowman, trees, sled
Doodlecharms-basket, snowballs
CM Cheerful Seasons-title
Paper-Carta Bella Warm and Cozy collection prints, CTMH solids
Versamagic Jumbo Java chalk ink for edging

Layout #2 is a fall layout that also has my Doodlecharms barrel, this time full of apples!  It looks a little different with silver brads and two different colors of brown paper-and of course is filled with apples, also from Doodlecharms.   I spent a day this fall with my sis and nieces picking apples from their neighbor's bountiful apple trees and then making making homemade apple butter and freezing apples for pie this winter!  (We ate the best apple pie EVER that night-from tree to pie in one night!)

A Child's Year-bowl/spoon
Everyday Paperdolls-apron
CM Stork's Delivery-Frogs and Snails font

You will find a whole variety of favorite Cricut cuts over at BBTB2, so do go check them out!  I must confess I am quite curious to see what the rest of the team will pick for favorites!
