Happy Thanksgiving layout

Happy Friday!  I haven't crafted much for a few weeks, as I (along with some of the fam) have been sick with covid.  I'm finally feeling better and back in my craft room in time to do some holiday cards and get back to my scrapbooking.  Today I'm sharing a layout I made for upcoming Thanksgiving pictures, using the Create A Critter 2 image collection and the Doodlebug The Great Outdoors paper collection.  I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving-my favorite holiday!

Eat More Pie thanksgiving layout

Happy Monday!  It's almost Thanksgiving and I'm feeling thankful to having family around my table to eat lots of delicious goodness.  My husband is going to smoke two turkeys to feed our hungry bunch (and hopefully still have some leftovers) and I've got lots of cooking and baking to do.

Our BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks is a food theme, which seems so appropriate for this time of year!  I found this "Eat More Pie" saying on the Turkey Squad collection on Cricut Access, which could not be more perfect for a food layout for my fam, as we believe in pie for all occasions (including birthday pie!).  Really I should make us all matching t-shirts saying eat more pie, lol!  The designers over at BBTB2 have some yummy food themed projects over there to see and you can link up a new cricut project for the next two weeks.

St. Patrick's Day card

Happy Monday!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is shamrocks, as St. Patrick's Day is coming up.  I've been sending occasional little cards to the college freshmen in my fam (son and niece), since they like getting mail from home.  For this challenge,I made a St. Patrick's Day card featuring the coffee go cup from the Artistry cartridge and added some shamrocks from CAC2 on the label.  I'm sticking in a gift card for that all important Starbucks fix...which should bring a big smile!

You're tweet! valentine card

Happy Wednesday!  I'm a day or two behind...you'll be amazed to know that I somehow did NOT get the flu despite the sickness at home....don't ask me how that happened, but I'm very grateful.  I believe I've gotten my money's worth from the vast quantity of hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes I used last week!  Or maybe my flu shot worked, although the kids got flu shots too.

Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to make a child's Valentine card.  I dug out my favorite Create A Critter 2 cartridge and cut this cute little Valentine bird all in shades of pink.  I don't think my boys will object to pink if it's on a Valentine, although this one is more likely to go to one of my nieces.  Go check out the adorable Valentines over at BBTB2 and get creative this week!

Red, White, and Blue 4th of July layout

Happy Monday!  Are you having some holiday weekend fun?  I have been working all weekend at the hospital, including tonight but will at least be off for the fireworks on the evening of the 4th.  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is Red, White, and Blue.  Since I know I will be taking some pics tomorrow night, I made a 4th of July themed layout.

birthday layouts

Happy Monday!  It's a birthday theme at BBTB2 this week and I have a whole bunch of birthday ideas to share!  You can see more birthday goodness over at BBTB2 from the designers.  So let's get started....

 Project #1
This was for pics of Son#1's birthday this fall.  I wanted the picture in the star frame to be the focus.

Cricut:
Sweet Treats-happy birthday
Artbooking-photo frame with star
Artistry-numbers
Elegant Edges-scallop circle
Plaintain Schoolbook-circle
Paper-Doodlebug print, CTMH solids

Project #2
I was having some fun with the CTMH watercolors and made the cupcake paper on the right myself! I stamped the cupcakes and then watercolored them!  I also watercolored the Happy Birthday banner that I cut from the Artiste cartridge...probably would have just kept watercoloring if there was anything else left, lol!  My inner kindergartner was out to play.  The balloons are stamped from a CTMH set that corresponds to the Art Philosophy cartridge, so I cut them out with my cricut, then stamped the ballon image.  We were celebrating the November birthdays in the family (Son#3 and Grandma).

Cricut:
Artiste-banner, balloons
Sweet Treats-make a wish
Stamp set-CTMH Artiste cartridge birthday set

The next few layouts go together as a set.  The Party Animals birthday layout from a few weeks ago is one of them.  The rest do not have any cricut cuts, but I decided to put them together with the other birthday layouts for one big birthday bonanza of layout ideas.

I showed this layout a few weeks ago, but wanted to include it with the birthday theme as well.

Happy President's Day Monday!  Our BBTB2 challenge theme this week is cute animals, which inevitably leads me to create with two of my all-time favorite cricut cartridges- Create A Critter and Create A Critter 2.  I have several pieces of Create A Critter goodness to share!  As always, the designers over at BBTB2 have some wonderful projects to see and you can link up a project as well.

Love and Laughter valentine layout

Happy Monday!  It's a Valentine theme going at BBTB2 this week, since the big day is only a few weeks away.  I've got some Valentines to share over the next few weeks but today is for a layout since I know there will be some funny iPhone pictures by the kids on Valentine's day!  I used Create A Critter 2 because who could resist that Valentine owl charm?  Not me!  See more Valentine inspiration over at BBTB2 from the rest of the design team.

4th of July layout

Happy Monday!  I'm hosting the BBTB2 challenge this week and the theme is to incorporate a flag or banner in some kind of 4th of July projects, since the holiday weekend is coming up.  We've got a busy weekend of fun, with picnicking while watching fireworks and a big family party.  Plus I've got to actually work a shift at the hospital in there somewhere…not so fun, but the bills must get paid!

So for my project, I made a layout for some of my holiday pictures using the Create A Critter 2 cartridge for all the cuts, including the banners in the corners.  They look just like the ones used on the stage at the fireworks show.  And I've got to say that the pup decked out for the 4th on CAC2 is just the cutest!  Please join us with a project for the 4th and link it up at BBTB2!  The design team have some great ideas for you to look at for inspiration, as always.

Thanksgiving layout (for BBTB2)

Happy Monday!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is pumpkins, so I made a Thanksgiving layout with the Create A Critter cartridges (with a little help from Doodlecharms for some of the leaves).  My pumpkins are from Create A Critter, along with Mr. Turkey, the green leaves, and the acorns.  The cornucopia, ears of corn, and the word Thanksgiving are from Create A Critter 2.  The print papers are from the beautiful fall CTMH Pathfinder collection.  There are so many cricut pumpkins to choose from…so check out the fabulous pumpkin projects from the design team over at BBTB2 and link a new one up with us this week!

Happy bird-day card (for Exploring Cricut)

Happy Tuesday!  I get the fun of sharing a project for Exploring Cricut's 4th birthday!  Since we are celebrating birthdays,  I used the Birthday Bash and Create A Critter 2 cartridges to make this b-day card for my niece.  It's a perfect little card when you want something "punny"!

I used the Birthday Bash cartridge to cut the shaped card base at 4 1/4 inches.  I cut two of the scallop mats (also from Birthday Bash) in two different prints and cut each in half, with some ribbon across the center to visually connect them.  The cute little party bird is from Create A Critter 2, cut at 3 inches.  I added a little bling to his party hat…because what is a birthday without some bling?  I stamped my Happy bird-day sentiment and hand cut the little banners.  I did a little more quick stamping inside to finish it all off.  Quick, easy, and cute!

Happy Father's Day layout (for BBTB2)

It's Monday and that means we have a new challenge over at BBTB2!  Since Father's Day is next weekend, our challenge is make something to celebrate the holiday.  We are having a big extended family gathering and barbecue to celebrate, so I made a layout for my pictures of the event.  I used the Create A Critter 2 cartridge for the shirt and title and some papers from an older Echo Park collection called A Walk in the Park that I had still left.  I kept it simple, since the pics will be busy!

Cricut:

So if you have a Dad or someone who fills that role in your life, this is the perfect opportunity to make a special card for them and link it up with our challenge.  Check out the DT projects for some inspiration over at BBTB2!

Happy Easter layout (for Exploring Cricut)

I've made a layout for the Exploring Cricut challenge this week, featuring three cartridges!  Yes, that's a bunch….but I needed them all. Our challenge is to make an Easter project, including a frame and a button, brad, or jewel.   I used the Phrases cartridge for the happy Easter title.  The bunny frame is from Elegant Edges.  The chick and eggs are from Create A Critter 2.  I added some pearls to my cute little Easter egg (for the jewels).  The cute print paper is from Hobby Lobby.

Owl be Yours valentine layout (for Exploring Cricut)

Happy Valentine's Day!  It's sweet to be sharing the daily project at Exploring Cricut today, because I have a Valentine layout for Valentine's Day!  My layout will be for pictures of the elementary school Valentine's Day party, but it would be pretty adaptable for lots of occasions, by using a different stamp or subtitle on the journal box.  I used the Create A Critter 2 cartridge for all the cuts.  The print papers are from the Doodlebug Sweetheart collection (the photo mat print paper has valentine words on it).  The photo mats are sized for 4x6 pictures, like most of my layouts.

Cricut:
Create A Critter 2-title cut at 3 1/2 inches, owl cut at 3 inches, tree cut at 5 1/4 inch, apples cut at 2 1/2 inches, 2 inches, and 1 1/2 inches.

Keep checking our daily projects each day at Exploring Cricut-let us know what you like!  I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day with lots of sweetness, hugs and good candy!

Love valentine card (for Exploring Cricut)

It's almost Valentine's Day and we are having a blog hop at Exploring Cricut!  Can you feel the love?  You should have arrived here from my fabulous DT sister Julie's blog.   Our challenge this week is to make a Valentine project and include a jewel.   I love making Valentines and this is the perfect challenge to get you started on making one for that special person!  Because you only have 4 days left-tick-tock!  My card uses Create A Critter 2 (I heart that cartridge!) for the cloud raining hearts and the LOVE sentiment below.  As soon as I saw this Doodlebug print paper, I KNEW I wanted to make this.   It is just ridiculously cute (the whole 6x6 pack)!

I Heart You Valentine card (for BBTB2)

Valentine's Day is coming!  This is one of my favorite holidays because you get things like chocolate and flowers and you can give kisses (chocolate or otherwise) to those you care about!  Plus you get to give cute little cards!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to make a Valentine project, including a heart, with your cricut.   The BBTB2 team has some great Valentines for you to see!

So for MY valentine, I used the Create A Critter 2 cartridge to cut my little bear with the heart and Elegant Edges to cut the scalloped ovals in the background.  I love the stamp "I Heart You", which went perfectly with my bear!  The cute heart bg paper is from Doodlebug.

Noel Christmas card

It's a Christmas card challenge at Fantabulous Cricut, so I made this card using the Create A Critter 2 cartridge for the NOEL.   The background papers are from the fresh and fun Doodlebug North Pole collection and the olive ribbon is from my stash of Stampin Up ribbon.  Super quick and easy for mass production!

Scary Party Halloween layout (for Exploring Cricut)

I have the fun of doing the daily project at Exploring Cricut today!  It's almost Halloween-have you been able to stay away from the Halloween candy?  I'll confess I've slipped a few times and found myself nibbling on contraband candy!!!

But on to my project:  I've been dying to use the cute little Halloween teddy bears on the Teddy Bear Parade cartridge, so I cut them out for my layout (for the elementary school fall party pictures of Son#3).  The title is from Create A Critter 2.  (The word party is actually part of another title, but I just added it onto my scary title!)  I added a few other cuts from CAC2 as well.  The bat background paper is from an old DCWV stack.

Mother's Day card (for the BBTB2)

I've made the cutest Mother's Day card using Create A Critter 2!  And Mother's Day is the theme of the BBTB2 challenge this week!  I wanted to make my card with CAC2 because I got this cart as a Mother's Day gift for my mom!  It was supposed to be a secret, but I had to spill the beans when she was thinking about buying it herself at the recent sale at Joann's!  Whoops!  So she won't be surprised but at least I know she likes it already!

Cricut:
Create A Critter 2-all cuts
Paper-American Crafts Hip Hip Hooray prints, CTMH solids

stamp-Hobby Lobby

The print paper is from the American Crafts Hip Hip Hooray 6x6 pad and the outside sentiment stamp I bought at Hobby Lobby long long ago.  The inside sentiment is from a My Pink Stamper set.  I just loved the cute little birdie bringing the mom bird a flower-I've planned this card in my head ever since I bought CAC2 (which is totally worth the investment if your on the fence-it is a REALLY great cart!).

We hope you'll get a jump start on making your mother's day card or project and link it up with us over at BBTB2!  The design team has some great ideas to inspire you, as always!!!

I'm going to link this to the Celebrate the Occasion Mother's Day challenge.

I'd roar if it was my birthday-how about you?  The lion from Create A Critter 2 is ready to party for someone's birthday!  This is another card for my Create a Critters collection (the rest can be found under the CAC and CAC2 tags on the sidebar).  The paper is from the American Crafts Hip Hip Hooray collection.  I'm going to link this to the Cut it Up challenge to use a lion or lamb on a project.
