wedding anniversary card

Happy Monday!  Hope you are all getting to enjoy some fall goodness!  It's been a busy week of work and teen activities, but the best part of the week was a fun afternoon crafting with my mom making some Christmas cards!  (of which you will see a few closer to Christmas!).  Nothing like a fun time crafting and laughing with special people!  So for our BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks, we have an anniversary theme-any kind of anniversary will do, it does NOT have to be wedding.  However, I made a sweet wedding anniversary card using the Sweethearts cartridge for the cute little tree with hearts and sweet XO message.  And I added my heart embossing folder for the background to make it extra sweet (in case the recipient didn't get the message of love, lol)!  You can see the design team projects over at the BBTB2 blog and link up an anniversary project for the next two weeks.  We hope you'll join us and have a wonderful week!

wedding bells card

Happy Monday!  We've just finished an icy cold gray week in KC with layers of freezing rain and ice covering everything.  I'm looking forward to slightly warmer temperatures and sunshine this week now that I'm finally over whatever virus laid me low!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is wedding or anniversary themed projects.  My stash of wedding cards is depleted, so I made a wedding card using the beautiful wedding bells and flower from the Sweethearts cartridge.  It was fun to make something pretty with soft springy colors!  I love that special blush pink paper from CTMH!  I put some sparkling gems on the bells, but the sparkle didn't really show up in the picture. You can see some inspo over at BBTB2 from the rest of the design team and link your project up there.  Have a happy week!

towel challenge

Happy Monday!  School is out and the kids and I are planning to chill!  Because summer school PE starts next week….yikes!  But summer PE won't have things like Calculus homework, English essays,  and conjugating verbs in French and Spanish, so I think the stress level around here should be MUCH lower.  I must say I am greatly looking forward to summer, as it has been a difficult stressful year for the teens.

Our BBTB2 challenge this week is towels.  As I didn't seem to have much in the way of cricut towels to choose from among my cartridges, my project is a fun wedding shower card with matching his and her towels from the Sweethearts cartridge.  I jazzed it up with two different embossing folders for some texture and contrast.  We've got some cute projects to get you started over at BBTB2, so take a look!

thank U card

I'm still feeling under the weather, but looking forward to some Thanksgiving goodness this week!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to use the word thanks on a thanksgiving themed project.  There are several people in our lives who deserve some special thanks at this Thanksgiving time of year, and I send a little note of appreciation each year at Thanksgiving.  My basic card design was sparked by something I saw on Pinterest, but in my Nyquil haze, I cannot find it to put a link (I'll try to find it later this week).  I used the Birthday Bash cartridge to cut out the card shape in kraft paper and also for the font for the big letter U.  For the thank part, I used the Sweetheart cartridge phrase thank you (using just the thank part).  The inside, which I forgot to photograph (I'm very very medicated) says "for all that you do".  The yellow candies are from Doodlebug.  Over at BBTB2, the designers have some ideas for you and you can play along and link up a project.  I hope you are able to enjoy the holiday and spend some time with those you love this week!  Happy Thanksgiving!

Wedding layout

It's my day for the daily project at Exploring Cricut and I've got a wedding layout for you.  We attended a wedding last summer and I got some great pictures of Son#2 dancing with the bride, who was his teacher!

My layout uses several cartridges.  The bridal couple are from Stretch Your Imagination.  The bride die cut is jazzed up with some embossing and liquid pearls on her dress.  The "Here Comes the Bride" title is from Sweethearts and the other cuts are all from Formal Occasion, including the journal box frame and flowers.   The background paper is from the DCWV Formal Occasions stack.

Cricut:

Formal Occasion-all other cuts
Paper-bg paper from the DCWV Formal Affair stack, solids are CM and CTMH

Be sure and check out the daily project at Exploring Cricut every day-there is something new to see from all the great design team members!

Remember This wedding layout (for Exploring Cricut)

It's my turn for the Exploring Cricut daily project today!  I've been scrapping some pictures from a cousin's wedding and had lots of candids of the reception and our extended family that I wanted to scrap.  I don't know about you, but I always end up taking lots of snapshots of family and friends at weddings, and leave the actual wedding ceremony pictures to the professionals.  But then, what to do with my snapshots?  I've made several pages for all the family candids I took at the reception.  Here are two of my pages.  The wedding cake page has a cake from the Sweethearts cartridge, which was very cute and fun to put together.  The other page (of family shots) has cuts from the CM Cheerful Seasons cartridge.  I used the circles, also from Cheerful Seasons, to tie the two pages together.  The font is also Cheerful Seasons.  Hope you enjoyed my little foray into wedding layouts.  Someday I'm going to get it together enough to do my own wedding pictures from 17 years ago!

Doesn't this cake look delicious?

Every day, each one of the designers at Exloring Cricut has a Cricut creation to share with you, to help you get ideas for using all your cartridges, so drop by for some inspiration any time!  Exploring Cricut also has a Facebook page, if you are an FB person, where you can see the project of the day.

Sweetheart anniversary card (for the BBTB2)

It's Monday and time for the BBTB2 challenge, which is to make a wedding/anniversary themed project.  My DT sisters have lots of great ideas for inspiration, so check out all their projects at BBTB2!  This challenge was just in time for my wedding anniversary, so I wanted to make a special card for my honey, as  the last sixteen years together have flown by and he is still my sweetheart.

I used three cartridges for this 6x6 card.  I decided to go with a 6x6 size to have plenty of room for my silhouetted couple.  The sentiment is from Paisley and the background heart is from the Sweethearts cartridge.  The silhouetted couple are from my new Suburbia cartridge.  I just recently got it and have so many ideas-there will be more projects with it in the next few months!  It also has two really pretty fonts, although I didn't use them on this card.

Wedding card

We are going to a wedding this weekend, so I made the card to go with our gift using the bride's colors.  The bride and groom are huge MU Tigers fans (met at a football game in fact), and the wedding colors are black, gold, and white-the MU colors!   I'm told they are even coming down the aisle at the end to the Tiger fight song!  We'll see if that turns out to be true.  (The bride has taught two of my boys in elementary school.)  I used the Sweethearts cartridge for the dress and rings and several of my embossing folders to give some texture, which brought out the dress a little more.  Stay tuned for the wedding gift, which I will post another day (I made a recipe book).

Be Mine, Valentine

OK, I broke my resolve not to buy any new Valentine paper, but it was only 1 piece!  Does that really count?  It was so cute I couldn't resist AND it was on sale.   I used several carts:  Simply Charmed for the "be mine" and mailboxes, Kate's ABC's for the "Valentine", and Sweethearts for the cute little dog and cat.   This layout will be for the pictures of the upcoming Valentine Party at the elementary school, where the kids will exchange valentines with their classmates.

I'm linking this to the Docerela Creations challenge to make a Valentine layout and also to the Cardz TV challenge to use pink on a project (def. got a lot of pink going on here!).

I'm Bananas for You

This layout is catching up more of the birthday pictures-son #2 had a Sock Monkey themed birthday party.  I found the most fun stack of paper called Cheekee Monkey by The Paper Studio at Hobby Lobby to work with for these pics.  I did a search at MyCutSearch.com (which lets you search for images on all the carts) and found monkeys on lots of carts.  I went with the adorable monkey from the Sweethearts cartridge, which also had the title.  The bananas are from Create a Critter and the vines from Zooballoo.

I'm going to link this to the BBTB2 challenge this week to use a cricut number on the project somewhere, since I have the 4 in the title.
