Big Ben travel layout

Happy Monday!  Christmas and New Years are over and it's back to real life....I enjoyed all the family time though.  All the teens/young adults living under my roof are still home for another week before heading back to school, so I'm soaking up every second of fun.  We have five staying with us, my three boys plus two extra kids, so it's a FULL house!

Our BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks is to use a cricut clock on a project.  I chose to make a scrapbook layout featuring some pictures from my October trip to the UK.  While we were in London, we saw the famous clocktower  Big Ben (although it was covered in scaffolding while repairs are being done).  I used the Destinations cartridge to cut the Big Ben image with the London title and the England title block and added my pictures.  You can take a look at all the design team clock projects and link one up over at the BBTB2 blog.  Hope you have a great week!

Banner and Sign projects

Happy Monday!  I am hosting the BBTB2 challenge this week.  Our challenge theme is to use a sign or banner on a project.  There are so many amazing banner shapes on the Flower Market cartridge that it got me inspired!  However, you can select any of the many signs or banners on any cartridge, because there a lot to choose from!  I have several projects below to share and there are more from the rest of the design team over at BBTB2!

St. Patrick's Cathedral layout
This is one of my favorite of the banners on Flower Market-perfect for the titles.

Cricut:

Ellis Island layout
The Destinations cartridge has some great signs like the one below for travel projects.

Cricut:

Sunshine layout
The sunshine banner is from the Artbooking cartridge and was ideal for some summer vacation pics from Estes Park, CO.

Ink-CTMH pigment inks
Let's Get Lost layout
This sign is from the Camping Critters, just the thing for some hiking pictures.

Concertmaster layout
And sometimes, you just have to make your own banner....like below.

3 Travel Layouts with CTMH Wanderful and Artbooking

Happy Saturday!  I'm sightseeing and taking photos in the picturesque Eureka Springs, Arkansas today!  Son#1 is here at strings camp and the big concert is tonight but I have the whole day to poke around before going to hear some great music tonight!

So I've been playing with the CTMH Wanderful paper pack (since I'm all about the travel this summer, lol) and am finally getting the three layouts I made with it up on the blog.  All three layouts use a little bit of the Artbooking cartridge and Layout #1 also uses the Destinations and Robotz cartridges.  And that used up about every scrap and sticker of Wanderful.

Layout #1
photos taken from the Skydeck in Willis Tower in Chicago
Destinations for the Chicago tower cut, Robotz for the title font

Layout #2
the arrows are all from Artbooking and did a little stamping
this will be for some cruise photos

Layout #3
adventure, arrows, and polaroid frames are from Artbooking
some shore excursion photos will go on here

United Kingdom at Epcot layout (Disney project)

I made this layout for the Fantabulous Cricut challenge "time flies" (which was to use a clock), using the Destinations cartridge.  This layout, featuring the big clock in London, is part of my Disney scrapbook I've been working on and has pictures from Epcot in the UK section.   I had to explain to the kids what a phone booth was-they were puzzled by the red phone booth-since they assume everyone has a cell phone, lol!  I plan to journal in the circle above the England title.

Cricut:
Destinations-all cuts
Paper-don't know the line, but I bought it at Archievers in the travel section.

San Angel Inn (Disney) layout

This layout is for some pictures we took while at Epcot's World Showcase last summer, where we ate lunch at the San Angel Inn in Mexico.  It was very interesting browsing in the different countries at Epcot.  In true Disney over the top fashion, the restaurant has a pyramid at nightfall with occasional storms, plus a boat ride that goes through the restaurant by the pyramid.  Lots to look at while eating-the kids were fascinated!  I used several carts on this layout, trying to re-create the look of the boat ride.

Cricut:
Destinations-pyramid
Mickey and Friends-Mickey and Donald
Pooh and Friends-Lightning, boat (trimmed from sailboat)
Old West-guitar, lantern, cactus plants
Designer's Calendar-sombreros
Life as A Beach-greenery, flower
CM Traveler font for title
small letter stickers are Echo Park
Paper-cardstock from the stash
I'm going to link this to the Creative Cutter room summer fun challenge.  Nothing is more fun for our family than getting to go to a Disney theme park for summer vacation!

Disney layout from Epcot (China)

Mulan (from the Happily Ever After princess cartridge) was the inspired addition to the Epcot page where we visited the China section.  (I need reasons to cut the princesses, since my boys really weren't interested in meeting the princesses except for when we saw Jasmine in Morocco, which I suspect had more to do with her outfit, lol.)  The dragon is actually part of the Mulan title block, but I tossed the rest and just used him.  The castle and China title are from Destinations.  I trimmed the castle from the rest of the image it was attached to.  ( And Mom-it is OK to throw away the scraps-really!)

I'm going to link this to the Paper Playtime challenge this week to use an umbrella on the project.

Cricut:
Happily Ever After-Mulan, umbrella, flowers, dragon
Destinations-title, castle
Paper-from the stash, don't know the line
Stampin Up buttons
