Party Time mini album with Artbooking (for Exploring Cricut)

Today is my day to share the daily project at Exploring Cricut and I have a really fun project to share!  I made a mini album using the Artbooking cartridge for pictures of my mom's big 70th birthday party.  (It was a Christmas gift for her!)  I used the 8x8 travel themed album for the base pages on the Artbooking cartridge.  I also used Artbooking for most of the decorative elements.  The title is from the Phrases cartridge.  The fabulous paper and stickers are from the Bo Bunny Surprise collection.

This actually came together pretty quickly!  I recommend using a coordinated paper pack that includes stickers to make things easier, like Echo Park and Bo Bunny make.  That way all the papers all look good together already and you already have some decorative elements ready to go!  I hope you enjoyed this and are inspired to make a mini!  Remember to check out our daily projects at Exploring Cricut each day (or on Facebook).

On Cloud Nine layout (for BBTB2)

It's national ice cream month (now there's a holiday I can get behind!) and my BBTB2 DT sister Brenda has selected any ice cream cricut die cut for our challenge this week.  I've been playing around with the very nifty Nifty Fifties cartridge and used the ice cream cone for my layout.  I have some great vacation pictures of my family slurping down ice cream cones on a hot day (the ice cream was heavenly cool and wonderful) that will go on my layout.  The title and font are also from Nifty Fifties.  The title was inspired by this super cute cloud background paper from the Carta Bella Cool Summer collection.  The ice cream cone and sandwich stickers are from the collection also.

24/7 mini album (for BBTB2) warning-pic heavy!

There is such a fun challenge for you this week at BBTB2-it's called Pass It On-Celebrate the Joy of Giving.  You can use ANY cricut cut to make something new to "pass on" to someone else to spread some joy.  The design team has some wonderful projects to inspire you over at BBTB2 and I hope you'll make something and link up to share with us.

I've had such fun making a little mini album with overlapping pocket pages (each has a pull out for more pics) of the kid's school year to give them, to remind them of all the good times this year.  I was trying to make it have a bulletin board feel (inspired by the cork board paper) and I wanted the photos to feel kind of like an Instagram or Polaroid- they are a 2x3 size.   I used my cricut to do most of the titles and added some embellishments.

I used some recycled chipboard (cereal boxes!) for my covers and the paper/stickers are from the Simple Stories 24/7 collection. Each of the 6 pockets holds a pull out with both sides available for pictures, so this mini holds LOTS of pics!  It has a magnet closure for the front and on the little back pocket.   I will admit this took me several nights to make and put together, but it was enormously fun!  My kids LOVED it and asked me to make more!  Now on to the pictures of the album (warning-there are a lot and I think I got them slightly out of order).

Here's the first page with the front covers opened up (the yellow zigzag paper is page 2).  There are 3 pages attached on each side:  Page 1 is attached on the left, Page 2 on the right, etc. and they overlap.  Each page has an insert in the pocket with 2 sides for more pics. 

 I squeezed a LOT of pics into this little 6 page album!  They are in the following pics.

Whew!  Lot of pics, I know!  It's much easier to see how it all goes together on a video, which is why I included the link to Ginger's video showing her finished album.  It was a SUPER fun little project!   This challenge is the perfect excuse to make that card or mini or little set of notes for someone, so jump in and join us with a project at BBTB2.

Cookbook (wedding gift)-warning: lots of pics

We went to a wedding in July for a beloved teacher of my boys and I had to come up with a gift, so I made a fairly quick cookbook using my cricut.  I used an album with chipboard dividers and clear sleeves with 4x6 pockets by Simple Stories, which I bought at Archievers.  I found a fabulous paper collection called Farm Fresh by The Paper Studio that had recipe cards included, and I decorated the chipboard pages with some of the paper and cricut cuts from the From My Kitchen cartridge.  I also included some photos of my boys taken in her classroom on the dividers.  The boys picked out all their favorite recipes to include-I didn't show all the recipe pages, just the dividers.  I did some fun little twists:  the oven door opens to show a pie and the pot opens to eggs boiling plus one of the boys added a little note later.

I used a thin coat of Mod Podge to adhere the paper to the chipboard dividers, cover and back.

Here's another page for the baby's first holidays album I'm making as a gift.  I used Simply Charmed for the leprechaun and pot of gold and the shamrock is from A Child's Year.  (The other pages I've made so far can be found under the mini album tag.)  I'm linking this to the challenge at BBTB2 this week to use a shamrock and the challenge at Fantabulous Cricut to use a shamrock and the color green.

baby book-Easter page

Here is the Easter page for the baby book I'm making (as a gift for someone).  The other pages I've done so far can be found under the mini album tag.  The bunny baby on Simply Charmed is just too cute!!!  The eggs and basket are from Doodlecharms and the funny bunny title is from 3 Birds on Parade.  I'm mainly using Doodlecharms and Simply Charmed for the book, so that the pages will have a similar feel.  I'm going to link this to the Fantabulous Cricut challenge this week to use purple, green, and turquoise on a project.

baby book-"My First Holidays" (first few pages)

So I'm working on a Baby's First Holidays mini album as a gift for a baby shower (which is awhile away, thank goodness), and I got the first few pages done.  The person this is going to is not a scrapper, so I made the mini 6x8 so she can easily put in 4x6 pictures on the photo mats.  (I've found non-scrappers generally don't print any size photos other than the standard 4x6.)  I'm sort of planning it on the fly as I go, but I am mainly going to use Doodlecharms and Simply Charmed.  I'm sure some other carts will sneak in though, before I'm finished.  (Actually, I just realized the Snow Days is from 3 Birds on Parade!) 

I'm going to link this to the challenge at SOUS this week:  "You've Got Mail", since the Valentine page fits perfectly, with the envelope and mailbox for baby's first valentine.
