Wee One baby card

Happy Monday!  Hope you have had a good weekend!  It's spring break here, but I've got sick feverish kids, so we are taking it easy and passing out the tylenol.  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is a baby theme.  I always need cute baby cards in the stash, so I whipped up a card for a baby boy.  I used the B is for Boy cartridge for this little onesie and the wee one sentiment.  It could be for a girl just as easy with a color change to pink.  Check out the sweet baby goodness by the design team over at BBTB2 and link up a project there this week.

Oh Baby card (for BBTB2)

Ready to face another cold and snowy (here in KC, at least) Monday?  Not me!!!!  The only part of me that is ready for the week is the crafty part- the rest of me is all sniffly from a monster cold and just wants to stay in bed with the covers over my head.  I think I need last week's sympathy card, LOL.

Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to make a new baby project.  I used the Artbooking cartridge to make my sweet little girl baby card.  The sizing on this cartridge is tricky, as things on this cartridge are sized to fit proportionally on the layout or mini book they are displayed with (which drives me nuts, since I am more of a do your own thing kinda girl and never make it they way they have in the handbook).  So the giraffe is cut at 8 inches to get a giraffe that is actually about 4 inches tall.  I couldn't cut him using real dial size because he has a layer.  I did cut the OH BABY title using the real dial size at 3/4 inch.  I love this soft colored paper from Studio Calico-just perfect for a precious new baby!  So add your new baby project to our BBTB2 link and check out all the design team baby projects this week.

Oh Baby card (for BBTB2)

It's a baby challenge at BBTB2 this week!  My project was inspired by Pinterest.  I've seen a number of  dresser cards on Pinterest with various themes, and have been eager for the occasion to try to make one.  I cut three rectangles for my dresser drawers and added brads for the knobs.  The darling little baby outfit and rattle are from the Baby Steps cartridge (so fun to cut in pink, since everything in my life is boy-related…).  The cute "Oh Baby" and "Congrats" phrases are from the Zooballoo cartridge.

Cricut:
Baby Steps-outfit cut at 2 1/2 inches, rattle cut at 2 inches
Zooballoo-phrases, both cut at 1 inch
Formal Occasion-hangar
Paper-CTMH solids, The Paper Studio pink patterned paper
brown chalk ink
Swiss dots embossing folder

We are looking forward to seeing what sweet baby goodness you come up with and you MUST go check out all the darling baby projects from the DT over at BBTB2!

Cute as a bug layout (for BBTB2)

Ladybugs are the challenge theme this week at BBTB2!  I couldn't wait to do this one-I've been going through some old baby pictures of the kids and this will be the perfect layout for a few of them.  Ladybugs are the only kind of bugs I really like because they are actually cute!

I used the CM This and That cartridge, as it it had this "cute as a bug" phrase for my title (even including a ladybug!).  I added another ladybug, also from the cartridge,.  It's all in soft candy colors inspired by my background paper from My Mind's Eye (the photo mat paper is from Echo Park).  I added some little dots (also from MME) for the ladybug eyes, just for fun!  Sorry my pics are not ideal-I really struggled with the lighting the day I took these, as there was a serious lack of sunshine.  I tried to lighten them up, which washed out the color!  Suffice to say, it is much prettier in real life!

so here we have my complete layout, which I had to photo edit the heck out of with only so-so results:

the colors are more true to life here:

Cricut:
CM This and That-all cuts
Paper-BG paper is My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing collection, Photo mat paper is Echo Park Sweet Day, solids are CTMH, journal box and smile card are Simple Stories Vintage Bliss collection

Baby card (for BBTB2)

It is a "Welcome Baby" challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2 this week!  The DT has made some adorable projects for your inspiration-I am always amazed at the beautiful things everyone makes!  I made this sweet little baby moon card for a welcome new baby card.  It's always good to have one of those in the stash and I've always wanted to use this cut on Create A Critter because it's so cute!

I decided on a green and yellow color scheme so it would work for either a boy or girl.  The print papers are from the American Crafts Hip Hip Hooray collection and the stamp is an old favorite from Stampin Up.  We'd love to see what baby goodness you can make with your cricut, so I hope you link up your project at BBTB2 this week!

B is for Boy baby card

I made a quick baby card for the stash while playing around with the B is for Boy cartridge.  The cute little train seemed perfect for a baby boy card!  The stamps are from one of the My Pink Stamper sets.   The shaped mats are from the Elegant Edges cart, which has proven it's versatility.  I find myself constantly going to it for mats for cards and journal boxes.   The banner is from Winter Frolic and I popped up both the train and the banner for some dimension.
