NYC travel layout

Happy Monday!  My college kids are home for spring break this week, so I'm looking forward to spending some time with them.  I've been doing lots of reading and crafting the last couple of weeks and completed another travel themed layout for some NYC pictures.  Why is cutting out cute little yellow cab die cuts so ridiculously fun?  The yellow cab was making me laugh the whole time I put it together.  It's from the Beep Beep image collection (the name also makes me laugh!) and I found the NYC icon on cricut access.  Here's hoping you all have a good week too!

Anything but a card challenge-2 scrapbook layouts

Happy Monday!  I have been trying to get my 2019 scrapbook done before we get too far into 2020, so for this next BBTB2 challenge, I made two layouts!  The challenge theme is anything but a card, which leaves you room to get super creative.  One of my layouts is for pictures I took in the ChinaTown area of London when we traveled to the UK last October.  My second layout is for photos from Son#1 and friends trip who went snow skiing in Colorado over their winter break.  I had so much fun finding the images and fonts to cut for each of these layouts!
Project #1

For the ChinaTown layout, I downloaded a font to my computer from da fonts, called ChinaTown.  I love da fonts and have had so much fun perusing some of the fonts....you can find a font for almost any kind of project there.  The rest of the images are cut from the Pagoda cartridge and the China collection on cricut access.  There were paper lanterns strung across all the streets in the London Chinatown area, so I knew I wanted to have some of those on the layout.

Pagoda-lanterns
China-dragon, pagoda
ChinaTown font-downloaded from da fonts
Paper-PhotoPlay Paper Crane collection print, CTMH solids

Project #2

For my skiing layout, I found the perfect title on the Go Canada cartridge.  There are lots of images of skiers on cricut access, so I had a hard time picking just one.  I was surprised there are so many skiers and snowboarders to choose from.

Big Ben travel layout

Happy Monday!  Christmas and New Years are over and it's back to real life....I enjoyed all the family time though.  All the teens/young adults living under my roof are still home for another week before heading back to school, so I'm soaking up every second of fun.  We have five staying with us, my three boys plus two extra kids, so it's a FULL house!

Our BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks is to use a cricut clock on a project.  I chose to make a scrapbook layout featuring some pictures from my October trip to the UK.  While we were in London, we saw the famous clocktower  Big Ben (although it was covered in scaffolding while repairs are being done).  I used the Destinations cartridge to cut the Big Ben image with the London title and the England title block and added my pictures.  You can take a look at all the design team clock projects and link one up over at the BBTB2 blog.  Hope you have a great week!

Meet Me in St. Louis layout

Happy Tuesday!  My birthday was last weekend, so my present to myself was to spend some time being crafty!  It was a rainy weekend too, so being cozied up in my craft room was extra nice!  Among other projects, I scrapbooked some pictures of our trip to St. Louis in August, and I had fun browsing cricut access for St. Louis related things.  I printed a very cute "meet me in St. Louis" skyline from the Doodle City Skylines printables.  (There were ones available for lots of cities-will definitely be making some more of these!).   I also found a cute cut of the state of Missouri showing the Gateway Arch to finish off my pages.  I am getting ready to travel again next week, this time to London!  Much packing and planning has to happen this week.  Hope you all have a wonderful week full of sunshine and smiles!

Totally a Tourist and You Are Here layouts

Happy Monday!  I am hosting over at BBTB2 this week and I selected a vacation/travel theme.  It's summertime and I figure at least some of you have some kind of trip going on at some point, and of course you will take some pictures.  Because if you don't instagram or facebook a trip pic or two....did you really go?  LOL, I'm kidding!!!!!  The real reason I take lots of pictures when I travel so I can look back and enjoy the memories.

I used the CTMH You Are Here cartridge for both these layouts-it is loaded with travel images for all kinds of trips. Highly recommend this cartridge!  Our design team over at BBTB2 has lots of great travel projects for you to see, so take a look and link up!

travel road trip Adventure Awaits layout

Happy Monday!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is a road trip theme.  We bought Son#1 a used little pick-up truck in August to drive on the ultimate road trip.....away to college!  I'm sure he will be having many adventures in this truck over the next few years-there is nothing like the freedom of your first set of wheels (that isn't the family mini-van, lol!).   I used the CM Traveler cartridge along with some road sign paper from the stash for this layout.  Hope you will join us over at BBTB2 with a project and see the fun creations from the design team!

The Big Apple NYC layout

Happy Monday!  It has been a rather busy and stressful last week, so I'm glad to be starting a new one!  And I will have a whole box of marvelous scrapbooking goodies (including the new cricut Flower Market cartridge by CTMH) to play with because it's my birthday this week!  Ideally my birthday would also be a national holiday where I could sleep in, but that MIGHT be asking a bit much, lol!

Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to use a cricut apple on a project.  I love apple season in the fall when the Honeycrisps are in our grocery store, all huge, crunchy, and delicious!!!!  However, I am scrapbooking pictures from the trip to THE Big Apple (Son#2 and I went to New York City with the high school band last spring), so I used my favorite apple from Doodlecharms as part of the title on my page.  The city landscape from Plaintain Schoolbook reminded me of the NYC skyline in Manhattan, so I added it to the bottom of the pages.  Go see all the marvelous apple projects at BBTB2 and link yours up this week.

Around the World-travel theme

Happy Monday!   Our BBTB2 challenge this week is Around the World, a travel theme.  Since I just got back from vacay driving to Colorado, I thought what could be more nostalgia inducing than a Route 66 road trip layout for those snapshots along the way?  I used the Nifty Fifties cartridge and some map paper from the stash to make this layout.  The stamps on the the journal box are from a CTMH stamp set called The Long Way Home.  The design team has some fabulous travel themed projects over at BBTB2 and you can link your project up using the linky at the bottom there.

Hola layout

Happy Monday!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is a Fiesta theme to celebrate National Margarita Day.  I must confess I am a bit surprised that National Margarita Day is in February, but perhaps tossing back a few margaritas is the answer to the winter blahs.  As there are sadly no fiestas or margaritas in my immediate future, I dug down into the "to be scrapped" pile for these pictures from Cozumel last summer, since Cozumel is basically one giant fiesta (especially after going to Señor Frog's!).  I used the Ole cartridge for all my cricut cuts, including the supercool banner and font (you can see it all better if you click on the picture for a close-up).  I hope you will consider joining us with a project and please go see all the fun over at BBTB2 from my fellow designers!

Life Today layout

Happy Thursday!  Are you staying warm?  It's cold and snowy here, so I'm dreaming of travel to warmer locales.  Since that's not gonna happen, I'll have to scrap some travel pictures instead.  While wearing my thermals and polar fleece.  My layout today doesn't have any cricut…just cute Echo Park paper and stickers.  I'm using it for some trip pics from the Caribbean, but I think it would work for just about anything.  I fell in love with this days of the week paper from Echo Park (you can see it better if you click on the layout for a close up) and the bright yellow stripe paper.  The stickers and chipboard pieces are all from Simple Stories.

Viva Mexico layout (for BBTB2)

Happy Monday!  Did you have a good weekend?  I did-the weather was fabulous, I had the weekend off of work, AND I got to go to the Maroon 5 concert Saturday night for a date night with my hubby!!!  I'm not really ready to face real life yet…. lots of diet Coke on tap for today to help me cope, lol!  But on to more crafty pursuits!

Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to use a frame on a project.  My Viva Mexico layout is for some vacation pictures for an upcoming cruise stop in Cozumel.  My hubby and I are getting ready to take a cruise in April for our 19th wedding anniversary-just the two of us!  We have been away from the kids overnight only a handful of times, so this is a REALLY big deal!!!!  I know I will take lots of pictures sightseeing, so I was browsing the Ole cartridge and found this really cool frame.   The middle layer is quite intricate, so I would recommend using spray adhesive to stick it down instead of a glue pen like I did.  I was really happy with how my layout turned out, as I was going for fun and colorful.  There is a smorgasbord of frames to see over at BBTB2, so take a look and link up a project!

Rocky Mountain High road trip layout (for BBTB2 travel challenge)

It's a vacation travel challenge at BBTB2!  We are leaving next week to go to Estes Park Colorado to see Rocky Mountain National Park and do some hiking and white water rafting, so this was very timely!  I cannot wait to be on the road!  I'm sure I'll be taking a bazillion pictures of the mountain views (in fact, I've scheduled us for a jeep photography tour!), so I've made a layout using Pack Your Bags and Zooballoo.  I cut the mountains from Zooballoo at fit to page, which turned out to be 4 1/2 inches.  The car, camera, and compass are all from Pack Your Bags.

Edited to add:  My kids informed me that this title could be misconstrued with the Colorado legislation legalizing certain substances (which did not even occur to me)….so just to clarify, we are going high as in ELEVATION,  lol!
