"Hoo knew? Love you" valentine card

I'm working on my Valentine cards, which is always such fun!  You can be silly and fun with a valentine and I like to make my kids laugh!  This valentine was inspired by the Cardz TV stamps color challenge:  make a project using black, white, and red only.  I had this background paper in my stash from the DCWV All Seasons pack with hearts in black, white, and red and I added the cute valentine owl from Create A Critter 2.  The "Hoo knew?" stamp is from a My Pink Stamper set.  I have firmly told myself I will not be tempted to buy any Valentine paper, but use from the stash-we'll see if I can resist temptation....but I used the stash today!

Music Show layout

Last summer while on vacation, we went to see a country music show in Branson with the grandparents and an aunt and uncle.  Although we are not really country music fans, the show was fantastic and the kids loved it-this was the first big live music show they've seen!  The guitar and ticket cuts are from the County Fair cartridge.  I LOVE the ticket!  The tag tucked behind a picture for journaling is from Plaintain Schoolbook (and I also tucked in one of our admission tickets).  The background shapes are from Accent Essentials.  The title font is from Birthday Bash.

new iPod layout

I finished another catch-up layout that has been buried under the pile:  from Son#1's birthday last year, where he got an iPod touch.  I used a bunch of carts on this one to show all the party fun, as he and his cousins played games and also had jam session playing their instruments and dancing.  The iPod cut is from Paisley, as well as the words crazy and jammin'. The font is from Robotz, the deck of cards from Old West, and the violin from A Child's Year.  The wonderful background paper is an older line from Basic Grey called Life of the Party.

Baking Cookies layout

So, cool news!  I will be designing for the Pause Dream Enjoy challenge blog for this next few months.  I'm really excited about the opportunity to do some projects with the super talented ladies on the Design Team.

The challenge theme this week at Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges is DESSERTS.   I used the Wild Card 2 cartridge for the cricut cuts of the oven, baking mitt/cookie pan, and whisk and bowl.  The scalloped journal box and font are both from my favorite cartridge, A Child's Year.   The delicious looking photo mat paper is from The Paper Studio and it inspired the colors for the layout.  The background paper is from the DCWV Sweet Stack.

This is a two week challenge, so make a yummy dessert project to share.

Tower of Terror layout (Disney project)

I am at Disney World today!  So it seemed appropriate to set up a Disney themed blog post for while I'm gone.  For this Tower of Terror layout (a ride in the Hollywood Studios park that I am going to ride today), I totally scrap-lifted the elevator door idea from a kit by Lynn Stuart that I saw someone making at a crop one time.  It was so clever-very impressed with her creativity!

 I used Happy Hauntings for the other page for the spooky cat, mirror, and Beware sign.  The spiderwebs are from Mini Monsters and the title font is the vampire font from Happy Hauntings.  Mickey is from Mickey and Friends, and he is psyched and ready to ride the Tower of Terror!  (Unlike me, who always gets butterflies of dread when getting on!)  Oops, just noticed part of my brick embossed background did not get stuck down well-sorry about that for the pictures!  (And yes, these are pics from 2011 that I'm still working on...)

The Magic of Winter layout

It has been VERY cold here-which kept me in the mood to scrap some snowy New's Year's Day pics of the kids.  I used the Winter Woodland cartridge for all the cuts and the BBTB2 challenge this week, bird on a branch, inspired the bird.  I had wanted something with a pop of red and that was just the thing!  The beautiful background paper is from the Echo Park Winter Wishes collection.

Sports Stadium layout

 Son#2 got to go on a field trip with his school to the major league football stadium this fall.  We got a tour, including the locker room where the team goes on game day!  We also got to go out on the field!  Boy does the stadium look big from the field!  It was all pretty cool, even though our team has been so bad this year that it was painful to watch a game and the coach and GM just got fired.  There is always next year, but I was ashamed to wear any fan gear in public!

Sports Mania was the game-winning cartridge for my layout!   (Couldn't help myself-had to get a sports pun in there!) The football helmet and football border on the journal box turned out really fun, I thought.  The scalloped square is from Accent Essentials.  The title font is Birthday Bash.
