Teacher thank you card

I'm trying to get my end of year teacher thank you cards done now, so you'll be seeing a few more next week too!  I enjoy the whole card-making process so much more when I work on  things ahead of time!  Not much of a last minute kind of girl here.   The CM Cheerful Seasons cart was the inspiration for this one (I was just browsing the handbook) and the sentiment just popped into my head and I printed it on the computer.  So what do you think?  I'm usually not very good at coming up with my own sentiments, but I liked this.  I hope the teacher does too!

Chirp Up! card

The SOUS challenge this last  week was April Showers, which I interpreted as a card to cheer someone up (this one is going in the stash).  I took the cute little bird with the umbrella from Create a Critter and used the "chirp up" sentiment (which I've been dying to use on something because it's just so darn cute!).

On the Go layout

The Fantabulous Cricut challenge this week is On the Go (use a car, train, bike, etc), which helped me decide how to scrap a mis-mash pictures of us walking around the science fair held at a former train station,.  (It now holds an antique fire truck, model trains, and all kinds of fun things to do.)  I added a fire truck and rocket, plus title from the Boys Will Be Boys cartridge.  Paper is Echo Park A Boy's Life Collection.

You're the bee's knees! card

My Mom's new embossing folder inspired this card!  I cut the bee's from Kate's ABCs and put them over this flower and vine background and used a sentiment from the My Pink Stamper Buggy Punnies set on the outside.   This will be for a teacher thank you card, since I know next month's end of school will just sneak up on me!  It doesn't seem possible that there are only 5 more weeks of school!  I'm going to link this to the BBTB2 challenge this week to use a bumblebee or ladybug on a project.

good eats layout

Over spring break, we took the kids for lunch to Fogo de Chao, a brazilian steakhouse that serves a huge variety of meat and traditional brazilian foods.  Very different from anything they had ever seen before-they've never eaten anything from that part of the world!  We had a blast sampling everything and took some pics to remember it all.  I had just gotten the CM cartridge This and That this weekend and used the globe (to represent world cuisines), plus one of it's two fonts for the title.  The paper/stickers are from the Echo Park This and That collection (ironic, huh?  I need to use the phrase "this and that" today as much as possible!).

Happy Birthday card (with Birthday Bash)

The BBTB2 challenge this week is to make a birthday card, using a balloon from any cricut cart.   I was excited about this, as a card with birthday balloons is unisex and appropriate for any age-good things to have in the stash for that unexpected birthday (like when your child informs you at 10:00 PM that he needs a birthday card for tomorrow-not saying that ever happened here, but....).  The paper is from the Basic Grey Life is a Party collection.

Mother's Day card

It's taken a few days for this card to come together, but I am so pleased with how it turned out!  (STOP looking, Mom-this one's for you.)  I've always wanted to try one of the frames from Lyrical Letters, and this one seemed to lend itself to adding some flowers (which are from Give a Hoot).   I combined some different words by inking only part of the stamp from some My Pink Stamper stamps to make my sentiment.

Math Contest layout

School themed layouts anyone?  I pulled out Locker Talk to create a layout for pictures of Son#2 placing in a regional math contest.  It had the ribbons, a calculator, AND even a compass/protractor!!!!  Thank you, Locker Talk!  (I love it when I find EXACTLY what I had in mind.)  The paper is from the really great Echo Park A Boy's Life collection.

Sending love your way card

This card is for a long-time friend who recently moved to another state that I won't get to see for awhile.  I used Accent Essentials for the top note cut and stamped my balloon image on it.  The paper and stamps are from Stampin Up.  I'm linking this to The Paper Variety challenge this week to make a card and matching envelope.  I like to decorate my envelope to match my cards, so I used a different stamp from the set on the envelope and added a little something to the envelope flap for extra pretty sweetness

Here's the inside:

Here's the scoop card

This card is going to be for my sister's birthday, later this month.  I used the ice cream sundae from Kate's ABCs and the paper is from the Stampin Up Cheerful Treat collection (it's yummy!).   I'm linking it to the My Pink Stamper blog hop challenge to make a birthday card.

Easter egg fun layout

This layout uses some of my favorite paper ever, the Bo Bunny Ad lib collection from last year. It's just so happy! I'm hoarding, as I only have a bit left :( . I mainly used Doodlecharms, which is one of my go-to cartridges, although a rabbit from Give a Hoot snuck on there too. I'm linking this to the challenge at Exploring Cricut this week, which is to use a cricut flower on a project (April showers bring flowers).

Hoppy Easter layout

I'm so looking forward to this weekend:  a wonderful church service coming up, Easter egg dyeing, and our family Easter egg hunt!  This layout is for pictures of some of the fun, using Celebrate with a Flourish and several embossing folders with my Big Kick.  I'm going to link this to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge this week "Egg-ceptional Easter".

Funny Bunny layout

We are dyeing Easter eggs and having our egg hunt this weekend-both family traditions!  I made a layout using 3 Birds on Parade and this really cool Easter egg paper from the Paper Studio that I found at Hobby Lobby for some of these upcoming pics.  (The eggs are from Doodlecharms.)  Sorry the pics are so dark-it has been cloudy and rainy all day here.

fabulous friend card (no cricut)

This card is sweet and simple, using supplies I got from Stampin Up's salebration recently.  The cardstock base is calypso coral.  The printed paper is from the Everyday Enchanted collection-kind of distressed and vintage looking-I'm loving it!  The ribbon and ink are pool blue.  Isn't that ruffled ribbon cute?  I used the oval and scalloped oval punches for the sentiment stamp, which is from Stampin Up.

Disney layout from Epcot (China)

Mulan (from the Happily Ever After princess cartridge) was the inspired addition to the Epcot page where we visited the China section.  (I need reasons to cut the princesses, since my boys really weren't interested in meeting the princesses except for when we saw Jasmine in Morocco, which I suspect had more to do with her outfit, lol.)  The dragon is actually part of the Mulan title block, but I tossed the rest and just used him.  The castle and China title are from Destinations.  I trimmed the castle from the rest of the image it was attached to.  ( And Mom-it is OK to throw away the scraps-really!)

I'm going to link this to the Paper Playtime challenge this week to use an umbrella on the project.
