banners everywhere

Happy Monday!  It's been REALLY REALLY hot here in KC, like much of the country this last few days, with heat indexes of 110.  Although it feels really good to be in the pool, I'm not a fan!  I'm grateful the weather is supposed to be more moderate today, as it's just been too hot to do anything.  That's a good excuse to be holed in up in my crafty space where it's air conditioned though!

Our BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks is banners, either making a banner or using banners as an element on a project.  I scrapped some pictures of Son#2 in a parade and used banners as a decorative element on the page.  Since the parade pictures were pretty bright and colorful, I wanted a colorful accent.  You can see the design team projects over at BBTB2 and link up a project too.

Hiking layout for anything but a card challenge

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a great 4th of July and weekend!  We enjoyed the great fireworks show our KC suburb puts on every year and spent Saturday at the Kansas City Air Show.  Seeing the stunt planes, Army Golden Knights Parachute Team, and the Navy's Blue Angels perform was an amazing day!  We came home full of awe and with some sunburns.  Our house is near the Kansas City Downtown Airport, so we got to watch the Blue Angels fly literally right over our street as they practiced this week.  Made for a fun neighborly event, as all the neighbors on our street came outside to watch!

Our BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks is anything but a card, which leaves your options pretty wide open!  As most of you know, I am more of a scrapbooker than card maker, so I'll give you three guesses what I made....it only took one, right?  LOL!  My hiking layout below is for some of the pics I took while Son#2 and I were hiking in the Rockies in May.  While searching for hiking type cuts on Cricut Access, I found this Miss Kate Cuttables The Great Outdoors cartridge full of hiking/camping related images and whipped up a layout.  You can see the design team's projects over at BBTB2 and link up a project too.
