Snow White layout (Disney)

I am still SLOWLY working my way through my Disney pics from last year!  We snapped several fun pics inside of Snow White's Scary Adventure, including one of the wishing well, while we were on the ride.  I cut Snow White and the wishing well from the Happily Ever After cartridge, and added the apple, bird, border, and title.   I cut Snow White at 5 1/2 inches and had to do her eyes with gel pens, as the eye pieces were just too small to work with.

Edited to add:  I just realized I photographed this with the pages reversed-Snow White and the Wishing Well are supposed to be together!  Whoops!!!

Cricut:

I'm going to link this to the Exploring Cricut Disney Dreaming challenge this week.  I'm looking forward to seeing all the cool Disney projects there for ideas!

Christmas in July card

Several challenges are doing Christmas in July right now, which is an incentive to get working on those Christmas cards!  I have not exactly been in a Christmas frame of mind, as the temperatures have been 100-105 here, but decided maybe it would make me FEEL cooler to do a winter project.  (Just for the record, it didn't...but I did get a card made!)  I used Phrases for the Merry Christmas and Elegant Edges for the shape underneath.

Wedding card

We are going to a wedding this weekend, so I made the card to go with our gift using the bride's colors.  The bride and groom are huge MU Tigers fans (met at a football game in fact), and the wedding colors are black, gold, and white-the MU colors!   I'm told they are even coming down the aisle at the end to the Tiger fight song!  We'll see if that turns out to be true.  (The bride has taught two of my boys in elementary school.)  I used the Sweethearts cartridge for the dress and rings and several of my embossing folders to give some texture, which brought out the dress a little more.  Stay tuned for the wedding gift, which I will post another day (I made a recipe book).

The Fantabulous Cricut challenge this week is wedding bliss, so I'm going to link my card to it.

"Sweet" layout

I miss all the ice cream we ate on vacation (although my waistline is paying the price), so I did a layout of my pictures was of us eating ice cream!  I scrap lifted the base paper choices from a layout I saw that used the Miss Caroline Dilly Dally paper from My Mind's Eye, but then I had to change up the rest to suit my pictures and die cuts.  The title is cut from the Groovy Times cartridge (I used My Cut Search to find all the cartridges that had "sweet" on them-there are a LOT of choices) and the journaling spot is from Elegant Edges.  My yummilicious ice cream cone is the stretched version of of the cone on Stretch Your imagination, although none of the real cones we ate had quite that many scoops :)

Heat Wave layout

It was triple digit kind of hot for much of our recent vacation, so the kids spent a lot of time in the lake or the pool.  Our resort had multiple fabulous pools, which I of course had to take pictures of.  All the cuts on this layout are from Life As a Beach, including the oh so perfect title!  The stamp is from the K Andrews Splashtastic Summer set and paper is some old Bo Bunny Barefoot Bliss collection from my stash.  The little letter stickers are from an old Echo Park collection.

I'm going to link this to the Fantabulous Cricut challenge this week-Sunny Days.  Hope everyone stays as cool as possible-I know it is incredibly hot in much of the country.

to my favorite chick card

The challenge this week at the Creative Cutter Room is to use a chick or chicken on a project.  My niece has a birthday coming up, so I used the cute little chick from Create A Critter and some stamps from My Pink Stamper.  The paper and stickers were part of my Echo Park Hello Summer pack.  I thought it came out girly and summery feeling!

I'm going to link it to the Creative Cutter Room challenge, since it's a chick (not chicken :)

Canoeing layout

I had a few more photos from our canoe adventures to scrap, and used the super fun Camping Critters cartridge for my layout.  The canoeing duck was irresistible!  The SOUS challenge to incorporate a hidden tag inspired me to make a hidden place to journal by using the sign feature to make a journaling spot.

Cricut:
Camping Critters-Up a Creek sign, canoeing duck, owl
Life As A Beach-title font
Paper-TPC Studio the Great Outdoors papers with some Bo Bunny Camp-A-Lot stickers and double dot paper

I'm not sure if this technically qualifies as a "hidden tag", since it's really a hidden sign, but the intent is there, so I'm going to link it to the SOUS challenge and hope they like it :)

Vacation was good, now it's back to real life...

Can't wait to scrap!  Vacation has been a blast and now I'm dying to get into my craft room-I took lots of fun pictures!  Here's what I've been doing:

That's me wakeboarding (fortunately we did not get a picture when I did a giant face plant!) and hubby waterskiing.  Good times for sure!  My only vacation regret is that I did not get to visit the local scrapbook store-my BFF and I bought some good stuff on another trip down here awhile back.  Somehow none of the fellas felt like that was high on the to do list!  Crafty goodness will be resuming in a day or two :)

Song Bird layout

I completed this layout awhile ago and thought I'd post it while we are on vacation.  We are having a blast and I'm thinking on theme park layouts for the future and will be searching the web for inspiration!   I think I may need a vacation from my vacation next week though-my feet are VERY tired!  On to the layout:

The show choir that Son#2 sings in performed Bye Bye Blackbird as the finale to the spring concert.  It brought the house down and inspired this layout, as I knew I wanted to use the singing bird from 3 Birds on Parade.  I LOVE the font with the bird feet that I used for the choir name!   So ridiculously cute!  I used the musical note cutouts from his little song bubble to jazz up the journal box.

PLAY layout with Recess

We are on vacation for the week at the lake, doing some waterskiing, fishing, and theme park fun, but I've got a few things pre-scheduled to post.

I had a few pictures of several fun school events and field trips from the end of the year that I wanted to scrap (but not enough of each event for a whole page), so I put them all together in a two page spread and used the Recess cart for all the cuts and the journal box to make it feel kind of unified.  Paper and letter stickers are Echo Park.

Cricut:
Recess-all cuts
Paper-Echo Park It's a Boy's Life collection, plus solid CM cardstock for all my die cuts

Hope everyone is having a good week and staying cool!  The temperature moderated slightly after a bit of rain here, so we are looking at double instead of triple digit temps today, thank goodness!

Keep Paddling layout

We went canoeing to celebrate my Dad's 71st birthday recently (he went in a kayak!) and I had so much fun making this layout for some of the pictures of us on the river.   The circles with the paddles and life vest are from Camping Critters and the font is Plaintain Schoolbook Roly Poly-which I realized after cutting the letters did not have a shadow, so I cut the letters again in white and just offset them a bit to make them stand out more against the background.   The journal box is also a cut from Camping Critters with the fun little stamp from K Andrews Splashtastic Summer set.

Cricut:

Paper/Stickers-Echo Park plaid, green bo bunny double dot, CM brown

Have a ball card

The adorable croc from Crocs Rule is having a birthday (card, that is). This will go in my stash. The stamp, which pairs with it very nicely is from the Summer Splashtastic set (by Kristal of the Getting Cricky with K Andrews blog). The fun stripe paper and Happy Birthday sticker is leftover from my Bo Bunny Ad Lib paper last summer.

As soon as I saw this stamp set, I've had this card in mind!

80 degrees and Sunny

This layout is all from Pack Your Bags, along with some paper and stickers from the Echo Park Hello Summer collection.  I love all the fun images and great titles on Pack Your Bags.  (Although the cricut people need to make a cartridge with just pool, river, and lake sayings and images, for those of us in the midwest who aren't anywhere near an ocean or sand.  We need titles like Cool in the Pool, Jump in the Lake, and Ride the River!  We also need images of pool noodles, rafts, and waterguns.  I will spare you any more details of my imaginary perfect summer cartridge, lol!)  And Pack Your Bags does have lots of great cuts!  Aren't the little swimmers just the cutest?

Cricut:

I was so happy to see that the BBTB2 challenge this week is Here comes the Sun (use a sun cut).  I was just finishing up this layout with the 80 degrees and sunny title, so I'm going to link it to their challenge.
