Let's Be Merry Christmas card (for BBTB2)

It is my turn to host the BBTB2 challenge this week and since Christmas is right around the corner, I thought getting some Christmas cards ready seemed like a great challenge theme!  The design team at BBTB2 has made some fantastic cards to inspire you.  I used this cute ornament on the CM Tis the Season cartridge for my card.  I wanted something kind of fun and fresh and this Doodlebug North Pole paper was exactly what I had in mind!

Cricut:
CM Tis the Season-ornament
Paper-Doodlebug North Pole collection prints, CTMH solids

So all you have to do to join our challenge is make a Christmas card (new, please) with a cricut cut and link it up with us at BBTB2!    Hope to see you there :)

3 French Hens Christmas card

I've always wanted to make a 12 days of Christmas series of Christmas cards using Joys of the Season, and this year I finally found some paper from Graphic 45 that inspired me to actually create them!  So here is the 3 French Hens card (don't ask me why I started with the french hens-it just happened, lol).  I sanded and inked the basket just a bit after embossing it since it looked kind of plain otherwise.  The hen and basket are from Joys of the Season and the lettering is from Artbooking.  The print paper is from the Graphic 45 12 days of Christmas patterns and solids 6x6 pack.

Cricut:
Joys of the Season-hen and basket, cut at 3 inches
Artbooking-letters, cut at 3/4 inch
Paper-Graphic 45 prints, CTMH solids
brown chalk ink, embossing folder

Fantabulous Cricut is having an Animal Cracker challenge that I am going to link my french hen up to-lots of fun animal projects to see over there!

Merry and Bright Christmas card (for Exploring Cricut)

It's my day for the daily project at Exploring Cricut!  Have you been making any Christmas cards yet?
It's time to get started!   I've been inspired by a 6x6 pack of the Doodlbug North Pole collection paper-it was so cute that I couldn't wait to dive into creating some cards!  I used the Winter Frolic cartridge to make this card and added some stickle to make the ornaments sparkle!

Cricut:
Winter Frolic-all cuts
Paper-Doodlebug North Pole collection prints, CTMH solids, American Crafts glitter paper
brown chalk ink
lime green stickle, xmas red stickle

Giving Thanks layout (for BBTB2 and Exploring Cricut)

Thanksgiving is coming right up and it's a Thanksgiving turkey challenge at BBTB2 and a Count Your Blessings Thanksgiving challenge at Exploring Cricut this week!  I combined both challenges,  making a layout for my Thanksgiving pictures with the Celebrate with a Flourish cartridge.  I embossed Mr. Turkey and the cornucopia with the Swiss Dots folder on my Cuttlebug for some extra texture, although it didn't show up very well in the pictures, unfortunately.  The beautiful paper is from an old Bo Bunny collection left over from last year (I've kind of been paper-hoarding these last bits of it....probably need a twelve step program or something, lol!).

Cricut:
Celebrate with a Flourish-all cuts
Paper-Bo Bunny Cider prints, CTMH solids
Swiss Dots embossing folder
brown chalk ink

Whipping up a turkey for our challenges will be a lot easier than whipping up a turkey for Thanksgiving, so I hope you will join in with a Thanksgiving project!  I will be working at the hospital on Thanksgiving day, so someone else will have to do the turkey cooking at our house this year-fingers crossed that they will save me some leftovers, lol!

White on White Christmas card (for BBTB2)

It's time to get to work on those Christmas cards!  Our challenge at BBTB2 this week is to make a white on white Christmas card.  I'm very fond of the polar bear on Joys of the Season, as he kinda reminds me of that old Coke commercial, so I decided to use him for my white card.

I added some embossing to give some texture to the all white cuts.  I also felt like my polar bear deserved a scarf in sparkly Christmas red to celebrate the holidays!  The sentiment stamps on the inside are from a My Pink Stamper set.

Cricut:
Joys of the Season-polar bear cut at 3 inches with shadow
embossing folders
Paper-CTMH red, American Crafts red glitter paper
stamps-My Pink Stamper
ink-Stampin Up Real Red

We would love to see you join us with a white Christmas card this week!  My DT sisters have some beautiful projects for you to look at over at BBTB2, so I hope you are inspired to join us!

Happy Birthday card (for Exploring Cricut)

It's my day to share the daily project at Exploring Cricut today and I have a birthday card for you.  We jokingly call this the "birthday season" around our house, as there are numerous birthdays occuring through the fall!  When I saw this fun happy Bo Bunny paper from the Surprise collection, I knew it would be PERFECT for a unisex birthday card for the stash.  The "happy birthday" is from the cricut Sweet Treats cartridge, accented with a tiny pearl for the dot on the i.

Happy note:  Son#1 liked it so much that he snatched it off my table for one of his friends!

Cricut:
Sweet Treats-happy birthday
Paper-Bo Bunny Surprise print, CTMH solids
brown chalk ink
pearl-Bo Bunny

Stop by every day at Exploring Cricut to see the amazing daily projects.  We want to inspire you to use your cricut more in a variety of ways and the DT showcases different projects each day!

I have two posts today...

It's a brand new Monday-not sure I'm ready for the week, even with the extra hour of sleep from daylight savings!  Just below is my post for the Cricut choice challenge at Exploring Cricut.  Scroll down one post for my bookmark post for the BBTB2 football challenge.  I hope your week is full of good things and maybe a little bit of fun!

The Brick music club layout (for Exploring Cricut)

We have a fun Cricut choice challenge for you this week at Exploring Cricut!  Use one patterned paper, 2 cricut cuts, and 3 colors.  I made a music layout, for pictures from a music club.  (Son#1 was playing  a local club called The Brick with his bluegrass band.)  I used the CM Be Young cartridge for my guitar, music notes, and fancy frame.  The title font is the Roly Poly font from Plaintain Schoolbook.  You could use any musical instrument and frame (Elegant Edges has great frames) to make this work for any kind of musical performance.  The print papers, which I fell in love with, are from the Simple Stories Smarty Pants collection.  I really like the fun guitar on this cartridge-feels kind of rock and roll!

Cricut:
Plaintain Schoolbook-Roly Poly font
CM Be Young-guitar, music notes, frame
Paper-Simple Stories Smarty Pants prints, CTMH solids
brown chalk ink

I hope you will join in on our challenge and go look at all the great projects from the design team at Exploring Cricut!

I'm going to add this to the Fantabulous Cricut anything goes challenge!

Football bookmark (for BBTB2)

Do you have a football fan in your life?  Our amazing DT leader Susan has selected a man-themed football challenge for us at BBTB2 this week.  As the Kansas City Chiefs have started the season at an improbably amazing 9-0, enthusiasm is running high here in KC and everyone has broken out their  Chiefs fan gear!  I made a bookmark, which Son #3 requested to use at school, for my football project.  I am planning to put a number on the player as soon as Son#3 decides WHICH player he wants it to be.    You can check out the rest of the design team's man projects over at BBTB2 and join our challenge!

The bookmark itself is from Plaintain Schoolbook, cut at 6 inches (along with the shadow).  I used the Roly Poly font from Plaintain Schoolbook for my Go Chiefs.  The adorable little football player is from Everyday Paperdolls, along with the goal and grass.  I added some twine to finish it off.  Superquick and Son #3 was happy!

Cricut:
Plaintain Schoolbook-bookmark and font
Everyday Paperdolls-all other cuts
Paper-CTMH cardstock
brown chalk ink
