Holly Jolly Christmas layout

Happy Monday!  I wish a Merry Christmas to all of you!  My family will all be home spending the day together and I am looking forward to it so much.  The tree is lit up and the packages are all wrapped, just a little baking left to do, which is always a challenge as the kids eat all the cookies as fast as they are baked.

My Christmas layout for the BBTB2 holiday challenge, which will run for 2 weeks over at the BBTB2 site, features holly and a wreath plus the fun holly jolly title on some old DCWV paper from the stash.  It came together pretty quickly and is all ready for those Christmas Day photos!  I hope everyone is able to have some moments of Christmas cheer during this holiday season.

xmas ornaments

Happy Monday!  December is here and that means Christmas!  The challenge theme at BBTB2 is to use a cricut cut Christmas ornament on a project.  I always make Christmas cards for the special people in my life, so I made 10 of these Christmas cards featuring an ornament from the Anna's Winter Wonderland image collection.  While you can't see it on this photo, the white ornament and berries and the gold are shimmer paper, so the card looks prettier in person.  I used the SU softly falling embossing folder behind it for some texture.  Very happy with how it turned out!  You can check out the rest of the designer's projects over at the BBTB2 site and link up projects for the next two weeks.

Game Night layout

Happy Monday!   I'm looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving this week- it's my favorite holiday!  I have much to be thankful for, despite the challenges of the pandemic.  I am extra grateful that since my family is all vaccinated, we are able to gather with the grandparents safely to celebrate Thanksgiving together.

The BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks is a Fun and Games theme.  We are planning a board game night while everyone is home, so now I've got my scrapbook layout all prepared.  The Game Night title is from the When I Was a Kid collection and I had some great Carta Bella paper from their Family Night collection for all the papers.  The design team at BBTB2 has great inspiration projects to see and you can link up a new cricut project there.

Family layout

Happy Monday!  It's been a good week, enjoying all the fall weather and football games.  The trees in the area have been at the peak of color and it's been wonderful to be out walking and enjoying the season.  We've attended several college football games in recent weeks to watch Son#2 performing with the marching band and cheer on the team.  Nothing says fall like being at a football game with apple cider and a funnel cake!

The challenge for the next two weeks over at BBTB2 is a heritage or family theme for your cricut project.  I always have lots of recent snapshots of my boys to scrapbook, so this theme helped me quickly get the most recent pics off my iPhone and into an album!  I used the CTMH You Are Here cricut image collection (which is one of my favorites) for the best family ever and family glasses.  You can see all the design team projects over at the BBTB2 site and share projects of your own.  Hope you have a great week!

Something to Crow About layout

Happy Monday!  Hope you are getting to enjoy some fall!  My husband and I spent last weekend hiking and enjoying a pumpkin festival, with the most gorgeous fall weather.  I snapped some pics that were perfect for our BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks....Something to Crow About (use a scarecrow, crow, or bird on your project).  I found the perfect image collection called Simply Scarecrows on Cricut Access and got my layout done in a snap.  You can see all the design team projects over at the BBTB2 site and link up your own project to share.

Big City layout

Happy Monday!  The challenge for the next two weeks over at BBTB2 is to use patterned paper with your cricut cut.  As I was thinking about what to make while tidying my craft room, I found a half-finished layout on the bottom of a stack from a few years ago that had....wait for it....patterned paper!  I think it got lost under stuff (does that happen to anyone else or just me?) and never completed.  It was very satisfying to finally get it all put together and in the appropriate album!  The pictures are from downtown San Francisco when we traveled there a few years ago.  The city buildings are cut with some old CTMH coordinating pattern and solid paper, I think.  Can't wait to see what everyone does with this challenge!  Have a great week!

witches and ghouls

Happy Monday! I'm getting this up a little late, as my husband and I took our first empty nester trip to NYC last week.  We did a LOT of walking and really enjoyed seeing the city!  I especially enjoyed seeing the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the MoMA.  It's kind of hard to come back to real life, lol!

It's almost October and the BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks is a witches and ghouls theme.  I had lots of fun making this layout and adding all the Halloween elements!  The mouse with the witch's hat in the corner from the Happy Hauntings collection was my favorite.  There are SO many fun choices for Halloween, it was hard to narrow down what to choose, but the mouse was a definite!  You can see the design team projects over at the BBTB2 site and link up a project too.  Hope you all have a good week!

Thankful for you layout for the grandparents challenge

Happy Monday!  Our BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks is all about grandparents.  While I do not have any living grandparents, I have some aunts and uncles who fill that role in my life.  (My mom was a surprise baby who had four older siblings who were grown with children of their own before she was even born. So my aunts and uncles are the age of most people's grandparents and my cousins are my mom's age.). We took a road trip to visit some of those aunts, uncles, and cousins this summer.  I got to see my aunt and uncle who are both 95 years old!  I was very thankful to get to see them, knowing it might be the last time.  I found the thankful for you title by searching on Cricut Access and some happy feeling paper to convey the joy in the visit.   I'm looking forward to seeing all the submissions for this challenge over at the BBTB2 site!

Happy Birthday layout

Happy Monday!   I hope you are all able to stay safe and cool in these dog days of summer!  It has been EXTREMELY hot and humid here in KC, with heat indexes of 105-110 every day.   My husband and I are working on finding our new empty nest groove, which has included spending some time floating in the pool!  I can report the kids are all doing well.  Probably better than us, lol!

The BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks is a birthday theme.  I had some family birthday pictures from June to scrap and this challenge prompted me to get them finished.  I find that many of our challenges nudge me to actually keep on track getting pages into my scrapbooks, which I love!  I cut some background overlays with the stars from the CTMH Artbooking collection, as I didn't have any birthday bg paper in the right colors to use.  Then I picked a gift and Happy Birthday from the many many choices on Cricut Access.  You can share any new birthday projects with a cricut cut included with us over at the BBTB2 site for the next two weeks.

Aquarium layout

Happy Monday!  It's been a very emotional weekend for me....we moved my youngest to college and are now officially empty nesters.  After 23 years of having kids living at home (and ALL the kids plus extras living at home during the pandemic), it's quite a change!

The challenge theme over at BBTB2 for the next two weeks is Under the Sea, and I found some pictures of a visit to the Aquarium in Chicago for the project.  I found the perfect background paper (which might be from Echo Park?) in my stash and found some great cuts on the Family Album image collection on Cricut Access.  I hope you'll be inspired by the design team projects over at BBTB2, where you can link up a project as well.

Hiking layout for The Great Outdoors challenge

Happy Monday!  I'm hosting the challenge for the next two weeks over at BBTB2 and the theme is The Great Outdoors.  My family is taking advantage of summer to spend lots of time outdoors hiking and swimming, including a trip to Yellowstone.  For my project, I made a scrapbook layout for photos taken on one of our hikes in Yellowstone.  The trail sign is my favorite of the hiking images I cut with my cricut.  Go check out the design team projects and share with us over at the BBTB2 site!

Road Trip layout for the Recycle/Reuse your stuff challenge

Happy Monday! It's so nice to have my computer repaired so I can create with my cricut again!  The challenge at BBTB2 for the next two weeks is to have your project incorporate something recycled or up-cycled in some way.  My project scraps some road trip photos from a recent trip to visit extended family.   I used an old map that I found under one of the car seats as part of some of my cricut cuts.  While you can't really see it here, the part of the map under the road trip sign actually includes our destination!  Check out the design team projects and share your project over at the BBTB2 site!

masculine card for Father's Day

Happy Monday!  The cricut challenge theme over at BBTB2 for the next two weeks is For the Guys.  I made a Father's Day card for my Dad, using one of the the cards in the Happy Father's Day card image collection.  I was planning to also make him a birthday card too for this challenge (his birthday is next week), but my computer died and is in the shop getting repaired....so sadly I can't use my cricut until I get it back!  This card was quick and simple to assemble and I thought would remind him of our family trip to Yellowstone recently with the mountain/tree imagery on the card.  You can see all the design team projects over at BBTB2 and link up a masculine themed project there as well.  Hope you have a wonderful week!

county fair scrapbook layout

Happy Monday!  It's been a whirlwind last few weeks!  We got to see Son#3 graduate from high school and we also celebrated the five graduations in the extended family, which was so fun!  Then it was vacation time....I returned yesterday from a multi-generational family road trip to Yellowstone, the Badlands, Custer State Park, and Mount Rushmore.  We had lots of adventures, saw a lot of truly amazing sights, and enjoyed getting to hang out together.  Now it's back to everyday real life :)

The BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks is a county fair theme.  I scrapbooked some old pictures from a day at our local fair.  I used the Ferris wheel and font from the You Are Here image collection to make my pages.  The design team has some great projects you can see over at the BBTB2 site, where you can link your project up as well.

May flowers

Happy Monday!  One graduation down, one to go!  It's been an emotional rollercoaster for sure.  My college senior graduated summa cum laude from my alma mater and I had tears of pride and joy watching him walk across the stage to get his diploma last weekend.  Our whole family, his fiancee, and grandparents were able to be there on his special day, thanks to the reductions in covid cases with vaccinations and capacity restrictions removed.  It was an amazingly wonderful surprise!  We have one graduation to go, with my youngest graduating from high school this week.

It's a flower challenge over at BBTB2.  Everything is in bloom outside and I am loving it!  Creating with flowers always makes me happy!  I used these lovely blooms from the Artistry collection for the card I made for Mother's Day.  I got my mom some real flowers too, but moms can never have enough flowers, right?  I had to play with the layers a bit to get two shades of pink plus my green leaves showing, but love how it turned out!  You can see the design team projects and link your project over at BBTB2 for the next two weeks.

Graduation layout

Happy Monday!  I'm hosting our BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks and selected a graduation theme.  It's very personal, as I have two kids graduating in the next few weeks...    Son#1 graduates from college with degrees in Economics and Political Science and is going to work for the Federal Reserve Bank.  Son#3 graduates from his high school's International Baccalaureate program and is headed to college in the fall to study computer science and cybersecurity.  I'm so proud of them both!  So needless to say, lots of photos will be taken and I need some scrapbook layouts!

I used the Class of .... image collection available on cricut access for the grad cap and title below.  I hope you all have an amazing week and you can link up a project to share over at the BBTB2 site.

layout for stars challenge

Happy Monday!  The BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks involves stars:  either a Star Wars May the Fourth Be With You themed project or you can go with just stars.  I chose to go with the basic stars, as I'm making some scrapbook pages for an upcoming family trip to Yellowstone this June.  The left side page is inspired from a layout made by Jennifer Smith that I saw on Pinterest and I added a second page.  I used several different collections from CTMH for the layout, including stars from the Aurora collection.  You can check out the design team's projects over at the BBTB2 site and link up your cricut projects there too.

fairy tale card

Happy Monday! The challenge at BBTB2 for the next two weeks is a fairy tale theme.  My 25th wedding anniversary is next week and this challenge gave me the perfect idea for a card for my amazing hubby.  We are still very much in love and have three great kids and the years have flown by....so it's truly my fairy tale happily ever after with everything I ever wanted!  While the pandemic has precluded doing anything big to celebrate, we are spending the day together and going hiking and getting our favorite takeout.

For my card, I used a romantic flower frame from the Happily Ever After collection (the inside sentiment is from that collection also).  The front sentiment is from a collection called B is for Books, which I found after a search on cricut access and sized to fit inside the frame.  I think he will like it!  You can check out the design team's projects over at the BBTB2 site and link up a cricut project there.

Bunny layout

Happy Monday!  I hope you are all having a good week and enjoying some spring!  The challenge at BBTB2 for the the next two weeks is to make something celebrating Easter or including bunnies.  My family actually has a very beloved pet bunny named Bo, who belongs to Son#2.  Bo the bunny is very photogenic and likes to hang out with the fam, so I took this opportunity to do a scrapbook page of pics of Bo.  I found some cute bunny designs on cricut access for the bunnies in the corners.  You can see the rest of the design team projects and link your own project up over at the BBTB2 site.

Marching Band layout

Happy Monday!  I hope many of you are getting to enjoy some spring temperatures right now.  While it is raining today, there have been some warm sunny days recently and my daffodils are blooming!  It has upped my happiness quotient considerable!

The challenge for the next two weeks at the BBTB2 blog is a music theme.  While I haven't gotten to attend any music events during the pandemic, I have pictures from Son#2's college marching band from 2019 that I decided to use for my project.  This layout used some big overlay cuts from the CTMH Artbooking.  The band helmet and trumpet are from Quarter Note and the Game Day title from the CTMH You Are Here collection.  I was so happy with how it turned out!  You can see the rest of the design team projects over at BBTB2 and link up a project of your own for the next two weeks.

anything goes

Happy Monday!  During these quieter winter days, I've been enjoying some time in my craft room, catching up on some older photos.  The challenge theme at BBTB2 for the next two weeks is an anything goes theme, so I pulled some older photos from a day at Epcot touring the World Showcase out of the pile for my project.  It is modeled off of a layout I saw on Pinterest recently, although I can't find the exact pin to link.  The globe reminded me of Spaceship Earth, and the other items represent some of the countries in the World Showcase area.  I have such happy memories of visiting Epcot and I look forward to when I feel we can safely travel to Disney again.  You can see all the design team projects over at the BBTB2 site and can share a project there too.

Bon Appetit! Baking Cookies Layout

Happy Monday!  I hope you're staying warm where ever you are-this cold from the polar vortex is getting old!  I've spent a lot of time in my craft room  because it's literally too cold to do anything.  (And I have a space heater in there, lol!)  I'm enjoying the crafting time with no distractions, so I guess that's the silver lining.

I'm hosting the BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks and selected the challenge theme Bon Appetit!  I wanted to scrap some pictures of our Christmas cookie baking and made the layout below.  I love how it turned out!  I especially love that kitchen mixer cut from Nifty Fifties for some reason!  I hope you will "whisk" up some food themed creations and share them over at the BBTB2 blog.

Happy Monday!  The BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks is a snowflake theme.  We got a big snow while my kids were home on winter break and of course I took a few pics as snow forts were constructed!  For my layout, I used an older cricut image collection from Creative Memories that I bought years ago called Tis the Season for my snowflakes and snowman and a font called Just Marsha that I downloaded from da fonts.  Am I the only one who loses track of time browsing fonts?  LOL!!!!  Head over to the BBTB2 site where you can link up a snow themed project for the next two weeks and see the design team projects for inspiration.

Get Well-Feeling Sick? Milk it card

Happy first Monday of 2021!  I don't know about you, but I'm kind of glad to leave 2020 in the rear view mirror.  We can all hope 2021 is a better year.  I've seen so much loss and suffering at the hospital this year...and am hopeful the vaccines will change the course of the pandemic.  I had tears of joy while getting my first shot of the Moderna vaccine last week!  It represents hope!  My hospital coworkers have been cheering and taking pictures as they get vaccinated. As vaccine availability gradually spreads out beyond health care workers and nursing home residents over the next few months, I encourage everyone to get one to protect themselves and all those in their community.

Our BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks is get well cards.  As many of us may know someone who is sick from covid or other illness, there will be many opportunities to send a homemade get well card this year.  My card below, from the the Just Because Cards cricut image collection, has the kind of punny humor that always makes me smile.  It is a slightly larger 6x6 size, as I'm planning it to use when dropping off a meal to a sick neighbor and wanted to have room to write the reheating/cooking instructions inside.  Go check out the design team projects and link one up to share!
