Skating card

I've got a few more thank you cards for Christmas gifts to make and this one was inspired by the BBTB2 challenge this week to use the skate from Winter Woodland on a project.  I had to go with the skate from CM Cheerful Seasons, however, as my sons felt the Winter Woodland skate (which has the laces tied in a bow) looked too "girly" for their thank yous.  Whatever!  Since I still used some pink, I'm not sure they will be entirely happy with the finished product anyway, but I liked it!

Edited to add:  the verdict was mixed from the boys this morning, who announced the card was very pretty, but had too much pink.  I think they had more of a black and gray hockey skate look in mind!  It was comical!

Cricut:
CM Cheerful Seasons-skates
Plaintain Schoolbook-tags
Stamps from JoAnns, twine, and brown chalk ink
Paper-My Mind's Eye striped paper, blue Coredinations, assorted scraps from the stash

  1. I'm giggling. This is really pretty but not real masculine. Guess it depends how old your sons are. I'd sure love it for myself, though. Thanks so much for joining us at BBTB2. (Hope I didn't offend. I was just teasing) xxD

  7. I like the use of the string for the lacing of the skate. My daughter is not fond of pink & is more fond of green so go figure. I made an ice skate using a recycled piece of cardboard for this challenge and then today made some hockey frames. Have a nice day.
