Happy Birthday Cool Dude layout (for BBTB2)

Happy Monday!  Yesterday was full of gray skies and violent thunderstorms with the weather radio sounding alerts all day, so I'm looking forward to a little sunshine today!  I am extremely grateful that the tornadoes that hit parts of the midwest did not hit in our area.  The sky looked scary, so I was uneasy all day Sunday.  So I'm really glad it's Monday!!!

Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to use a cricut birthday cake on a project, so I have a birthday layout for you.  I've got a couple of birthdays needing to get in the scrapbook, so this was a great challenge for me!  I used two cartridges, Boys Will Be Boys for the title and Birthday Bash for the cake.  The print papers are from the Echo Park Scoot collection.

Cricut:
Boys Will Be Boys-title cut at 3 1/2 inches
Birthday Bash-cake cut at 4 1/2 inches
Paper-Echo Park Scoot collection print papers/stickers, CTMH solids
brown chalk ink

Go check out all the DT birthday cake projects at BBTB2 and link up with a project-perfect chance to get that birthday card you'll need soon made or get some b-day party pics scrapbooked!

Be You, Be Happy layout (for Exploring Cricut)

I get to share the daily project for Exploring Cricut today!   Are you happy it's almost the weekend?  I have a Be Happy layout for you, perfect for some fun weekend pictures.  I used the CM Be Young cartridge for all the cuts.  My paper didn't photograph very well, but it's actually a really cute polka dot print and plaid from Fancy Pants.  The colors are MUCH better in real life, but my limited photography skills just aren't showing it.  I popped up the banners in the corners so I can slide pics under them.  And the adorable smiling snail just makes ME happy, lol!  (Now I have that Happy song by Pharrell Williams stuck in my head too!)

Cricut:
CM Be Young cartridge-all cuts
Paper/stickers-Fancy Pants Happy Go Lucky collection prints, CTMH solids
brown chalk ink

Check out all our fun projects at Exploring Cricut-there is something new every day to inspire you!  I have to work all weekend but I hope you all get to have some fun and relaxation in yours!

Happy Spring card (for Exploring Cricut and BBTB2)

Happy Monday!  Did you have a great Easter?  We had such a terrific day with beautiful music at church, a big cookout with the extended family, and lots of chocolate after the Easter egg hunt!  I think it's possible I actually ate too much chocolate (gasp!)!  The post-Easter diet is starting immediately.  So, on to more crafty type topics….

It looks like there will be some gorgeous spring days this week, so I have a springy card for you.  The BBTB2 challenge this week was to use a cricut bird and the Exploring Cricut challenge was "It's a Spring Thing", including a flower.  I used the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge for my sweet little singing bird, flower, and bee.  The print papers are from American Crafts.

Cricut:
Stretch Your Imagination-bird cut at 3 inches, flower cut at 3 1/4 inches
Paper-American Crafts Color Crush 6x6 pad for prints, CTMH solids
Ink-Stampin Up Lucky Limade, Versamark Jumbo Java chalk ink for edging

I hope you all have a wonderful week with some fun and craftiness in it.  Hope you make some projects to share with these fun challenges!

Easter Eggs layout (for BBTB2)

Our BBTB2 challenge theme this week is Easter, which leads me to thoughts of Easter egg hunts!  So my layout today is all about the egg hunt!  I used one of my favorite cartridges, A Child's Year for the whole layout and was super-happy with how it turned out.  I love all the silhouettes on this cart and it has lots of great tag shapes that make perfect spots to journal-you can see the cute bunny cutout on the journaling spot in the left corner.  I used lots of the icon cuts and popped up the flower border, ducks, and chicks enough to be able to slide photos under them.  My print paper is from an old DCWV stack called All Seasons.  We are having a big Easter egg hunt and egg dyeing party for the kids and friends next weekend, so I will have plenty of pictures to put on all my Easter layouts!

All Aboard layout

It's my day for the daily project at Exploring Cricut!  So who's up for a train layout?  Boys and a fascination for trains seem to go together-when my guys were little, they were all obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine.  I never left the house without at least a few engines for emergency entertainment in my purse.  Even as big guys they still like trains, so when we saw the spectacular train layout while at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry last summer they were mesmerized.  We must have spent 30 minutes looking at it.  (It has an enormous model railroad that "runs" from the city of Chicago to Seattle, complete with all the skyscrapers.)

I'm finally getting around to making a layout for those pictures.  I used the Boys Will Be Boys cartridge for the title and train and the My World cartridge for the railroad signs.  The fun and colorful paper and stickers are from the Echo Park Scoot collection, which I have been hoarding for just this layout!  The bright colors just make me happy.

Cricut:
Boys Will Be Boys-title cut at 3 inches, train cut at 2 1/2 inches
My World-railroad signs cut at 1 1/2 and 2 inches
Paper-Echo Park Scoot collection prints and stickers, CTMH solids
brown chalk ink

Hope you enjoyed the railroad moment here and check out Exploring Cricut every day for a new project!

I've got two posts today...

Happy Monday!  I hope the sun will be shining and spring will be happening where ever you are today.  I've been all sniffly from a cold and  feel sure that sunshine and some extra Vitamin C might be the cure.  And maybe some chicken soup from Panera!  I have two posts today.  Just below is a my Easter layout for Exploring Cricut, using Phrases, Elegant Edges, and Create A Critter 2.  Scroll down one post for my Easter card for BBTB2, using Kate's ABCs.  Have a great week!

Happy Easter layout (for Exploring Cricut)

I've made a layout for the Exploring Cricut challenge this week, featuring three cartridges!  Yes, that's a bunch….but I needed them all. Our challenge is to make an Easter project, including a frame and a button, brad, or jewel.   I used the Phrases cartridge for the happy Easter title.  The bunny frame is from Elegant Edges.  The chick and eggs are from Create A Critter 2.  I added some pearls to my cute little Easter egg (for the jewels).  The cute print paper is from Hobby Lobby.

Cricut:
Phrases-title, cut at 3 inches
Elegant Edges-bunny frame and shadow, cut at 4 1/2 inches
Create A Critter 2-chick and eggs, cut at 3 inches
Paper-The Paper Studio
brown chalk ink

You can use any cricut cut or SVG for this challenge, so link up at Exploring Cricut, and check out the design team's cute projects!

I'm hoppy for you card (for BBTB2)

Our fabulous leader Susan picked Easter bunnies as the theme for our BBTB2 challenge this week.  I used one of my favorite cricut bunnies from the Kate's ABCs cartridge to make a sweet Easter card for a friend.  The "I'm hoppy for you" sentiment is from a My Pink Stamper set.  The pretty watercolor looking flower bg paper that inspired the card is from a 6x6 pad by American Crafts.

Cricut:
Kate's ABCs-bunny scene cut at 3 1/2 inches
Paper-CTMH solids, print American Crafts
brown chalk ink
oval and scallop oval punches-Stampin Up
sentiment stamps-My Pink Stamper set
pop dots

The design team has some very sweet bunnies for you to get inspired by at BBTB2.  I hope you'll link up with a project too!
