baby book-"My First Holidays" (first few pages)

So I'm working on a Baby's First Holidays mini album as a gift for a baby shower (which is awhile away, thank goodness), and I got the first few pages done.  The person this is going to is not a scrapper, so I made the mini 6x8 so she can easily put in 4x6 pictures on the photo mats.  (I've found non-scrappers generally don't print any size photos other than the standard 4x6.)  I'm sort of planning it on the fly as I go, but I am mainly going to use Doodlecharms and Simply Charmed.  I'm sure some other carts will sneak in though, before I'm finished.  (Actually, I just realized the Snow Days is from 3 Birds on Parade!)

I'm going to link this to the challenge at SOUS this week:  "You've Got Mail", since the Valentine page fits perfectly, with the envelope and mailbox for baby's first valentine.

Doodlecharms-snowman and snowballs, mailbox/letter, hearts
Simply Charmed-be mine, love bug
3 Birds on Parade-snow day
Paper-background paper is The Paper Studio All Occasions pack, plus assorted scraps from my stash for everything else, pink glitter paper from the Target dollar bin (that makes me so happy because I love cheap:)
Frosted Lace stickle on the edge of the snow, buttons from the stash
ribbon-bashful blue and real red from Stampin Up

  1. What a supercute idea! Love the pages you made and this makes such a sweet gift. Hugs, Hanneke

  2. Great job!
Love the cute cuts and papers you used...
Thanks so much for joining us at SOUS

  3. This is soooooooo soooooo cute! I love it!
I also like that you don't have this planned but are kinda
of going with the same cartridge, because at least the style
in cuts will be the same. And of course, that's one of the best
    carts still! =)
Can't wait to see more of these pages!
How perfect was this for our challenge! Love it!

  4. This is so cute!! will you be posting the rest of it as I would love to see it??

    1. Absolutely! I'm going to be working on it on and off over the next week or two.

  5. Just adorable .. I think that is still one of the cutest mailboxes that PC has out! Thanks for entering our challenge and playing with SOUS!

  6. When you use the glitter paper, do you change the cutting blade to the deeper cutting tool or do you just use the regular one? That's something I've been curious about.

    1. I use the regular cutting blade. However, I dial my Expression to maximum pressure and turn the dial on the blade to 6, so it's at it's deepest cut. I also use the multicut setting on the Expression, so it goes over the cut twice. If I forget any of those things, I don't get a clean cut, but all three together seem to work like a charm. If the cut is extremely detailed (like a snowflake from glitter paper), I also adjust the speed dial to it's slow setting, along with the above.

    2. Awesome thanks for the info! I've had a Cricut for awhile (just the original one) - but I'm still learning.

  7. super fun layouts and who ever is going to receive this mini album will be thrilled with it.. Like so many of the other girls, I can't wait to see more..
thnx for sharing this with us girls over at SOUS
    Nanné :)

  8. Oh Michelle both pages are SOOOOOOOOO Cute! Your friend is going to Treasure this forever. I love Doodlecharms (an all time fav!) I can't wait to see the rest of the pages as you go. Maybe you'll be able to share with us again over at SOUS with the rest of the pages! Thanks for sharing these!
