Father's Day BBQ pop-up box card

Happy Monday!  I am hosting the BBTB2 challenge this week and it's all about the dads, since Father's Day is this coming weekend.  We have a man theme going-anything masculine with a cricut cut for Father's Day will fit the bill.  I saw a cute idea on Pinterest that sparked my project-a cooking themed pop-up box card.  Both my husband and my dad are kings of the smoker and grill, so this seemed like a perfect fit.  (Here in Kansas City, we are all about the BBQ.  There's an amateur pit master on every practically every corner!)

I followed this tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers to make my basic box card, and then used cricut cuts from Everyday Paperdolls for my cooking items, catsup, and mustard and Artbooking for my conversation bubble, which I stamped with the Love You and hearts.  We'd love to see your Father's Day projects over at BBTB2 and you can take a peek and see the rest of the design team projects for inspiration!

Cricut:
Everyday Paperdolls-cooking items, chef's hat

Paper-CTMH solids
Stamps-CTMH Hello, Life-Cardmaking and Hello, Life-Pocket Scrapbooking sets
Ink-Stampin Up poppy parade, Memento Tuxedo black
corner rounder
white and black pens for doodling

  5. What a wonderful grill box card! Outstanding. My favorite feature just might be the "love you" in the middle.

I bet you do see a lot of BBQ and it is probably a matter of pride for your dad and hubby. Doug is our grill master, though he has not tried a smoker. I am intrigued and think we (Doug) should give it a try.

Thanks for the nice comments on the flooring project. We both thought it would be easier. Silly us. The first night, after we had each bathed, we were supposed to be going to sleep and out of the dark Doug's voice said, "this is a lot more difficult than I thought it would be." Amen Mr.D. It was tough.

Great challenge, btw. Loved this week's projects.
