St. Patrick's Day card

Happy Monday!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is shamrocks, as St. Patrick's Day is coming up.  I've been sending occasional little cards to the college freshmen in my fam (son and niece), since they like getting mail from home.  For this challenge,I made a St. Patrick's Day card featuring the coffee go cup from the Artistry cartridge and added some shamrocks from CAC2 on the label.  I'm sticking in a gift card for that all important Starbucks fix...which should bring a big smile!

wedding bells card

Happy Monday!  We've just finished an icy cold gray week in KC with layers of freezing rain and ice covering everything.  I'm looking forward to slightly warmer temperatures and sunshine this week now that I'm finally over whatever virus laid me low!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is wedding or anniversary themed projects.  My stash of wedding cards is depleted, so I made a wedding card using the beautiful wedding bells and flower from the Sweethearts cartridge.  It was fun to make something pretty with soft springy colors!  I love that special blush pink paper from CTMH!  I put some sparkling gems on the bells, but the sparkle didn't really show up in the picture. You can see some inspo over at BBTB2 from the rest of the design team and link your project up there.  Have a happy week!

Disney layout with Mickey Mouse

Happy President's Day Monday!  My family all had the day off from school and work, so I was looking forward to today...until some kind of virus found me.  I've spent the day in bed with the cat, both of us sleeping (which sounds nice except it's that dizzy fitful sleep that goes with sickness).  Although the cat seems quite content.  On the bright side, at least nothing important was going on and the fam has been bringing me juice and food!  I can definitely say however that I prefer to BE the nurse, not be the sick person, lol!

Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to use a licensed character in a project from one of the Disney, Pixar, Hello Kitty, or other licensed character cartridges.  I went Disney with my favorite character of them all, Mickey Mouse!  This layout has pics from a trip to Disney World several years ago with Mickey and the Disney logo front and center.  Hope you will join us making something fun and check out all the design team projects over at BBTB2!

I Heart You Valentine card

Happy Monday!  Do you have any special people in your life to make Valentines for?  There's a few days left to create something crafty to let them know how much they mean to you!  All you really need is hearts, which is our challenge theme this week at BBTB2.  I cut out some hearts to make this I Heart You card, using the Accent Essentials cartridge.  It was inspired by this card I saw on Pinterest, I just added a few more hearts for pizazz.  And it was super quick to make!  I hope you  all have a Valentine's Day complete with hugs and lots of chocolate.

Stinkin' Cute Valentine card

Happy Monday!  Valentine's Day is coming up, so we have an anything goes Valentine challenge this week over at BBTB2.  Valentine's Day is tricky for me because of the candy...I have stayed strong and NOT bought any Valentine candy (yet), but eventually I know I'll cave in and gorge on chocolate or those candy conversation hearts.  The candy just jumps into my grocery cart at the store all by itself almost!  It's not my fault, right?  I don't know why the healthy food doesn't just jump in my cart like that, lol!

So for my valentine project, I used my all time favorite cartridge, Create A Critter to make this sweet little Valentine skunk for my cute stuff card.  And he is stinking' cute, so the punny saying was perfect.  I highly recommend getting some stamps with punny sayings, as I think those are the ones I use the most.  People like humorous cards.  The design team over at BBTB2 has made a whole lot of adorable projects you can check out and link up a project of your own.

You're tweet! valentine card

Happy Wednesday!  I'm a day or two behind...you'll be amazed to know that I somehow did NOT get the flu despite the sickness at home....don't ask me how that happened, but I'm very grateful.  I believe I've gotten my money's worth from the vast quantity of hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes I used last week!  Or maybe my flu shot worked, although the kids got flu shots too.

Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to make a child's Valentine card.  I dug out my favorite Create A Critter 2 cartridge and cut this cute little Valentine bird all in shades of pink.  I don't think my boys will object to pink if it's on a Valentine, although this one is more likely to go to one of my nieces.  Go check out the adorable Valentines over at BBTB2 and get creative this week!

Penguins

Happy Monday!  It's not such a happy Monday at my house, as the flu has found us.  I knew it was only a matter of time for the kids, as it began circulating around school district....and the hospital I work at has had very high levels of flu activity and been very busy.  At work at least I am protected by mountains of isolation gear.  I haven't got it yet but I can feel the invisible ticking clock of doom as the inevitable germ here at home breaks through my cloud of hand sanitizer, lol!  One news article I read this week said flu levels were high in every state except Hawaii, with the peak level here in Missouri.  I think that means I should go to Hawaii immediately!  For my health, of course.

Our BBTB2 challenge this week is penguins.  Who doesn't love penguins-they always look so cute and adorable at the zoo!  I did a thank you card featuring this guy from Joys of the Season.  Since it's a thank you for one of the teens to use, I thought a little text-speak would be on point (or maybe it's on fleek-I never get the difference), so UR Cool as my teens would say to someone providing an awesome gift.  We have lots of adorable penguin cards over at BBTB2 and hope you will take the opportunity to make something too!
