Around the World-travel theme

Happy Monday!   Our BBTB2 challenge this week is Around the World, a travel theme.  Since I just got back from vacay driving to Colorado, I thought what could be more nostalgia inducing than a Route 66 road trip layout for those snapshots along the way?  I used the Nifty Fifties cartridge and some map paper from the stash to make this layout.  The stamps on the the journal box are from a CTMH stamp set called The Long Way Home.  The design team has some fabulous travel themed projects over at BBTB2 and you can link your project up using the linky at the bottom there.

It's a summer beach and pool layout bonanza!!!

Happy Monday!  Coming back to the real world after vacation is requiring much diet Coke to the rescue today!!!  We had a great trip to Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park, CO and I took tons of amazing pictures.  While I make no claims to being anything special as a photographer, the pictures practically take themselves when you are someplace so beautiful with a nice camera and I can't wait to scrapbook all of our adventures!  So before I get to the crafty stuff, I'll share a little Rocky Mountain goodness…

My fellas
Having lunch about 4 miles into a hike, by Mills Lake in RMNP

and most importantly, the view from the hot tub at our condo!

So, the BBTB2 challenge this week is Fun in the Sun, celebrating the pool or beach.  I have lots of beachy goodness to share, as I've been scrapping pictures from our vacation last year.  So feel that ocean breeze while you browse my 8 summer themed beach/pool layouts here and go over to BBTB2, where the team has lots of fun projects to see.  (I have more beach/cruise layouts here on this post and more yet under the summer tab on the sidebar, if you are looking for ideas for a summer layouts.)

4th of July wall hanging

Happy Monday!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is fireworks, as today is the 4th of July!  We are traveling to Denver today (on our way to vacay in Estes Park, CO) and will get to celebrate with family there tonight.  I'm looking forward to this upcoming week of hiking and horseback riding in Rocky Mountain National Park and have a whole stack of new books to read while sitting on the deck looking at the mountains!  And there is supposed to be a hot tub overlooking Lake Estes to soak in…it's gonna be a great week!  So switching focus to crafty things, below is my BBTB2 project, which we've been enjoying for a few weeks.

I made a wall hanging for my foyer, using Simply Charmed for the words and A Child's Year for the 4th of July images.  It turned out just how I imagined it (which is not always the case, lol) and is framed and hanging up on the wall.  I tried photographing it in the frame, but the reflections off the glass did not make for a decent pic so you are seeing it unframed.  Hope you will check out all the cool projects from the design team and link up a new project of your own!

4th of July-stars

Well, it was definitely a Monday of mixups, as I managed to post for the wrong week!  So here's the correct post for this week's BBTB2 challenge, which is a star spangled challenge for the 4th of July to use stars.  My layout for pictures on the 4th uses a fireworks/stars cut from Artbooking.  The title is from Graphically Speaking.  I plan to be watching fireworks in Denver, CO next week with my brother's family, as we head toward our summer vacation week in Estes Park, CO!  It's been a little crazy this last few weeks, so I am very very ready to kick back on vacation!  The BBTB2 team has some fabulous projects to get your creativity going!

Wild Things layout

Happy Monday!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to use two of something on a project.  My layout for some zoo pictures has two monkeys, along with lots of other adorable critters from the Create A Critter cartridge.  We took the kids and their cousins to the zoo earlier this month, so I have a bunch of funny zoo pictures to scrap.  Our zoo has "borrowed" some koalas from the San Diego Zoo for the summer, so we had to go see them (and I had to put a koala on my layout)!  Apparently koalas sleep 20 plus hours a day, according to the exhibit info (they certainly slept through our visit!) and I feel like I could also be a koala-it sounds very relaxing, don't you think?  The polaroid style photo frames are from the Artbooking cartridge and the font is from the Stork's Delivery cartridge.  Hope you will check out the rest of the design team projects over at BBTB2 and join us this week with two of something.

Father's Day BBQ pop-up box card

Happy Monday!  I am hosting the BBTB2 challenge this week and it's all about the dads, since Father's Day is this coming weekend.  We have a man theme going-anything masculine with a cricut cut for Father's Day will fit the bill.  I saw a cute idea on Pinterest that sparked my project-a cooking themed pop-up box card.  Both my husband and my dad are kings of the smoker and grill, so this seemed like a perfect fit.  (Here in Kansas City, we are all about the BBQ.  There's an amateur pit master on every practically every corner!)

I followed this tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers to make my basic box card, and then used cricut cuts from Everyday Paperdolls for my cooking items, catsup, and mustard and Artbooking for my conversation bubble, which I stamped with the Love You and hearts.  We'd love to see your Father's Day projects over at BBTB2 and you can take a peek and see the rest of the design team projects for inspiration!

You're RAD layout

Happy Monday!  Hope you have had a fun weekend of summer!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is a garden theme.  Makes you just want some of that summery goodness, doesn't it?  Well, the farmer's market is about as close as I get to actual gardening, but I love cooking with garden fresh produce.  So my layout is for celebrating the delicious fresh goodness we will be having at an upcoming family BBQ.  I used the Just Because Cards cartridge for my radish and punny title.  Check out the awesomeness from the design team at BBTB2 and garden up something of your own!
