Back to School layout

Happy Monday!  I am hosting the BBTB2 challenge this week and I selected a back to school theme.  Because if you took pictures from the first day, you need to get them scrapped, right?  Or here is your opportunity to make some cute little lunchbox cards for kids or grandkids.  Or something for a teacher-lots of possibilities here!  It's the "last first day" for all 3 of my boys together, as my oldest is a senior in high school this year.  I have taken a picture of them on the first day of school every single year along the way-hard to believe he is a senior.

My layout uses the Family Album cartridge for all the cricut cuts.  The spiral notebook paper shape is with the back to school title in the handbook.  The journal box shape and the 3 photo holder are on the Bug Safari page, in case you try to find them.  I added some school themed stickers from the Echo Park paper pack for some extra pizazz.  Go and check out the design team projects over at BBTB2 and link up a project this week!

Summer Flowers layout

Happy Monday!  School has started and we are struggling to get back in the groove!  I got spoiled with not having to get up at 6:00 AM in July and early August.  There's a reason I work nights….I am a night owl and I HATE mornings!!!!  Apparently everyone else does too, judging from the early morning level of gloom when I get the kids up...

Our BBTB2 challenge this week is summer flowers.  I cut one of the flower shapes from the Artistry cartridge and stamped the flowers and leaves with the corresponding images from a CTMH stamp set that coordinates with the cartridge.  I used some other stamps from the same set (you can see better by clicking on the layout), including cutting and stamping the title Better Together block (also from Artistry).  The paper is a cute flower print from Doodlebug.  Go check out the garden of goodness from the other BBTB2 designers and link up your summer flowers!

Wedding/Anniversary

Happy Monday!  School is starting for the kids this Wednesday, but we are going to try to squeeze in some last minute fun before the grind begins.  We are going to the zoo today to both see the animals and collect pokemon-apparently there is a Pokestop at nearly every exhibit (I am somewhat baffled by this Pokemon Go phenomenon, but my teens have forced me to learn!).  Then it's off to the high school and middle school for Meet the Teacher night.

Our BBTB2 challenge this week is a wedding/anniversary theme and I have a non-traditional kind of anniversary layout to share, using the Groovy Times cartridge.  My hubby and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary this year and I wanted something fun, bright, and happy for some of those sweet and silly pics taken over the years.  It's very groovy, yes?  But it will suit the pictures perfectly!  The rest of the BBTB2 team have some great projects to share and you can link up yours too to share with us.  Hope you all have a great week!

Coffee/Tea Hi friend card

Happy Monday!  Our BBTB2 theme this week is coffee or tea.  While I don't drink coffee,  I deeply love tea (Constant Comment and Earl Grey are my favorites)!  I used an older cartridge favorite, Lyrical Letters, to make my simple card because I loved this cute little tea cup with "hi friend" attached!  I added a few hearts too (from the Sweethearts phrase on LL), because having tea while catching up with friends always makes my heart happy!  A little pen work around the edges to finish it off and this card was done!  It was also super fast to make, which is always a plus!

Sea Animals layout

Happy Monday!  I have spent the weekend in the very picturesque Eureka Springs, Arkansas sightseeing and listening to lots of great music for the finale concerts at strings camp (two of my boys are violinists and have had a week full of classical music).  So I'm a little wiped out today, after driving them the many hours back to KC!  Diet Coke to the rescue!!!!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to use a sea animal on a project.  I was scrapping some pics from swimming with the stingrays in Grand Cayman last summer and included several sea critters from the Family Album cartridge.  They (along with the anchor) come from the aquarium layout and the fishing layout designs in the handbook.  I was so happy to have a cartridge with a stingray!!!!!  In case you are wondering, the rays at Stingray City were very friendly, swimming all around us and eating food out of our hands!  It was my boys' favorite thing we did on our cruise.  The designers at BBTB2 have some super cute sea animals to share, so be sure to check them out and link up a project this week!
