Memories layout (school)

One of the kids most beloved teachers is taking a new job next year, so they took some special pictures sitting in her classroom and of the last days of school with friends, so I titled this layout "memories".  All the cuts are from Locker Talk and the paper is from Basic Grey's Shine On collection.  I had the most terrible time getting pictures of this layout-it's cloudy and the pics are kind of dark-sorry!

I'm going to link this to the Die Cuttin Divas Anything Goes challenge this week, which has helped me finish up this layout!

Rootin' Tootin' Shootin' Toy Story Mania layout (Disney)

I'm very slowly working my way through the millions of pictures I took last year on our Disney trip.  Toy Story Mania was one of our favorite rides-we ALL loved it!  I saw the Rootin' Tootin' Shootin' title on a tshirt in the gift shop later and knew that would work it's way onto a layout somehow.   This took me a whole evening to make-those cuts on Toy Story are not for the faint-hearted!  I cut Jessie at 10 inches and I would not cut her any smaller, as I still had to dig out the tweezers for small pieces.  I cut Bullseye at 6 inches (he wasn't as bad as Jessie).  The army men weren't too bad either.  I love how my layout turned out in the end, even if assembly was a bit tedious :)

Graduation layout

I dug out my never used Recess Lite cartridge that I bought last fall for the Exploring Cricut challenge to use a neglected cartridge, and made a layout for the elementary graduation pictures I took this week.  It had some cuts that were perfect!  Isn't the little schoolhouse cute?  I embossed it with a brick Sizzix folder.  I also added some cuts from Locker Talk.  (I think I've never used it because I like Locker Talk so much for school events.)

a melon thanks card

I needed another thank you card and wanted something with a summer feel!  At a sunny beautiful 87 degrees here today, it feels like summer!   I was browsing through some paper and came upon this fruit paper in the DCVW Sweet Stack (it's as yummy looking as it sounds), which along with the SOUS challenge to use a fruit die cut inspired my card.    The watermelon slices are from the CM Cheerful Seasons cart.  I spent awhile waffling between it and the watermelon from my beloved Doodlecharms, but decided to go with the Cheerful Seasons melons since it cut two slices of watermelon.  We all know that with watermelon one slice is NEVER enough!

Movin' On card (graduation)

Son#2 is graduating from elementary school this week.  Yikes, how did that happen?  Time really goes by in a blink (except on days that last forever while not going so well, but enough philosphy, right?).   On to the good stuff-I made him a cute card for his graduation ceremony with 3 Birds on Parade, one of my top 5 favorite carts.  Incidentally, he is the one who convinced me to buy it in the first place!   The stamp set is from TPV called Graduation, and has all kinds of handy graduation sayings and stamps with a kind of weathered look.

Cricut:

Paper-solid cardstock is from the stash, letter print from Echo Park A Boy's Life collection

Birthday Bash layout

I had so much fun making this layout using Birthday Bash and stayed up ridiculously late to finish it!  There was a big family party for my niece and nephew (who share a birthday but are two years apart), so I've got a whole bunch of  birthday pictures to scrap.  This layout is for the cake and candles pics.   I added some Diamond Glaze to the frosting  (and some pink stickle to one) on the cakes to make both look really delish, although it didn't show up well in the photo.  The cute paper is the new Basic Grey Shine On collection that I found on sale last week at JoAnns (I have a serious weakness for paper-it's like a sickness or something).

Cricut:
Birthday Bash-all cuts
Paper/buttons/transparencies-Basic Grey Shine On collection
Stickle, Brown jumbo java chalk ink, Diamond Glaze
Lime Twist twine, Echo Park letter stickers "for"

I'm linking this to a couple of fun challenge blogs this week.   Amanda's Crafts and More challenge this week was to scrap a celebration of some kind-double birthday, so I've got it covered!   My Creative Time's Throwback Thursday was a birthday theme, using birthday hats, cake, etc., so some of my cute birthday animals got party hats.    And last but not least, the BBTB2 challenge was to incorporate something from a bakery on the project, so we've got not one but TWO cakes on this layout, for the two birthdays.

You're so fly card

This card is from one of my favorite cartridges, Paisley.  If it's not in your stash, it should be!  The sentiment is from Buggy Punnies, one of the My Pink Stamper sets.  I've had the dragonfly in my head to go with this stamp ever since I got the set (maybe now it will get out of my head and leave me alone!) and finally got around to making this!

M is for Mom layout

Mother's Day is coming up this weekend and I always try to get pictures of my boys and I together, plus one of my mom and me for my scrapbook.  Being a mom has been both the best and most challenging thing I have ever done!  Fortunately, I have a great example to follow, as my mom is amazing.  This layout was made entirely using Kate's ABCs and Echo Park's Springtime paper collection.  I LOVE all the flowers on this cart!

Daisy Duck-Disney layout

Back to some more Disney layouts, folks.  It may take until we save up enough money for the next trip to scrap the pics from this trip!!!!!  But I have to admit Disney layouts are superfun to make.  Daisy Duck in her safari outfit greeted us at one of our character meals.  Daisy is girly even in safari dress and she spent some time oohing and aahing over the autograph book I made, which made me ridiculously happy :)  I used several cuts from Mickey and Friends for this layout.

Science Fair layout

Lockertalk is going to get a workout this next few weeks with all the many school events!  I used the Science Fair sign, beaker, and microscope for this layout, which were kind of fun to cut out!  I love all the signs on this cart.   Ahh, those beakers and microscope:  brought back memories of high school chemistry-the thrill of mixing chemicals and not blowing yourself up is not to be forgotten :)   And the Echo Park This and That paper is very fun to work with!  All the ticket stubs and library card things were from the paper pack.
