Lego Fun

Legos are EVERYWHERE in my house, after a LEGO Star Wars themed birthday party for son#3.  A houseful of 9 year old boys is a very loud messy affair.  Especially after making the mistake of providing them with foam lightsabers (which they promptly began beating each other with).   However, I believe much fun was had and immediate construction of the lego gifts began.   I decided that cuts from Boys Will Be Boys had the most resemblance to acutal legos, so here is my layout.  If there is a lego on a cartridge, someone let me know which one it is!

School Days

I finally got to play with my 3 Birds on Parade cartridge!!!  It is so fun!  Love the font with the cute little bird feet in the letters.  This layout will be for pics from Breakfast with Books at the kid's school.

Fall Fun

This is another layout from our trip to the park, using the CM Cheerful Seasons cart.  I really like this cart and think I will eventually use every single cut on it.

Thankful

I recently took the kids to the park on a beautiful  October afternoon when they were out of school.  The day was sunny, warm, and full of color from the trees-truly a perfect fall afternoon.  I just happened to have my camera in my purse and took lots of pictures.  I realized that I am thankful for my kids and that I would not have been spending that wonderful afternoon at the park without them, but focusing on boring grownup things.

I used the Lyrical Letters Connected font for the title and A Child's Year for all leaves, bird, and journal box shape.

Animal Mini Cards

I can't stop making these cute little minis!  This set has an animal theme going on.  I'm linking one to the current Exploring Cricut challenge to use leaves and acorns on a project.  I think this first cute little guy fits the bill!

Holiday Recipe Mini Album

I've always wanted to try making a holiday recipe book, so this is my first attempt.  I mainly used the From My Kitchen cartridge, with a few cuts from other carts thrown in.  The paper is last years Echo Park Christmas collection.   This is the first time I've really used many of the cuts on From My Kitchen and they are really cute!  I made several pages for cookie recipes, since there are so many wonderful ones out there for Christmas treats.  (I'm hungry now!)

The white inserts to write the recipe on are 3x5, so an index card could replace the inserts if you want lines on the recipe cards.  The recipe pages with pockets are 4x6 3/4 in.  The cover page is slightly bigger.  I cut the title words for each recipe page at 3/4 in.   The strip to make the pocket is 2x6 3/4 in.  Most of the cuts to decorate the pocket are cut at 2 in., except for a few at 2 1/2 inches.  

I'm going to put this into the Fantabulous cricut challenge this week, which has a book theme.
