Happy Monday!  Christmas is in full swing at my house....we picked out the tree over Thanksgiving as a family and got it all set up!  I'm making a few Christmas cards for the special people in my life, so here is one of them.  I bought a 6x6 paper pack of various tartan plaids to use for the patterned paper on the cards.  I felt like the blue plaid went with snowflakes (I'm doing different designs for each plaid).  Hope you have a great week!

Happy Thanksgiving layout

Happy Friday!  I haven't crafted much for a few weeks, as I (along with some of the fam) have been sick with covid.  I'm finally feeling better and back in my craft room in time to do some holiday cards and get back to my scrapbooking.  Today I'm sharing a layout I made for upcoming Thanksgiving pictures, using the Create A Critter 2 image collection and the Doodlebug The Great Outdoors paper collection.  I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving-my favorite holiday!

Live Out Loud football marching band layout

Happy Monday!  It's been wonderful fall weather here in KC and we've been driving up to the college football games, watching Son#2 perform with the college marching band for the pregame and halftime shows.   I used some paper from an older Doodlebug collection of football themed paper in the stash and used the Artbooking CTMH cricut collection for the overlay cut and the Live Out Loud title to make a quick layout for some of the many pictures I've taken.  The whole thing came together in about 15 minutes!  I hope you all have a great week!

Birthday Card with old SU sets

Happy Thursday!  Sharing a quick birthday card I made for a friend, using some old SU stamp sets from my stash.  Sometimes I get distracted by my newer products and forget to get out the older goodies and play with them.  My hubby and I have just returned from a week of vacation and I'm feeling the urge to be crafty (I found an amazing scrapbook store on the trip and stocked up on some new paper!).  Hope you all have a good week!

Happy Monday!  Just a quick layout to share today, using the CTMH Artbooking collection for the overlay cut.  I also cut the font on my cricut, but am not sure what the font is (I downloaded a whole bunch of new fonts, lol).  Hope you all have a wonderful week!

black and white layout

Happy Labor Day Monday!  While I am working at the hospital all weekend, I hope most of you are getting to enjoy a long weekend!  Labor Day always feels like the gateway to fall for me, although the weather certainly still feels like summer.  (Time to break out the apple cinnamon and pumpkin spice candles, lol!)  We went up to watch Son#2 perform with his college marching band last week at the football home opener and watching college football also gave me all the fall vibes.

I put together a scrapbook layout using black and white paper and prints that is one of those designs that could be adapted for almost any event, so I'm showing it here without a title.  The black and white just feels so classic and I love how it turned out!  It doesn't have any cricut cuts at the moment, but I will use my cricut for the title, which I plan to put along the bottom.

Route 66 road trip layout

Happy Monday!  It's been awhile-summer has been too busy to get much crafty time.  However, we are back to being empty nesters with the kids away at college, so I have a lot of time to catch up on my craft projects.  This Route 66 road trip layout was made with the Nifty Fifties image collection for all the cricut cuts.  Son#3 had gone on a road trip to visit college friends, so I was scrapping some of his pictures from the trip.  I love the Nifty Fifties images so much, so this was lots of fun to make.  Hope your end of summer includes some fun!

Let's Shellabrate birthday card

Happy Monday!  It's been nothing but HOT summer days here in KC!  Hope you are staying cool somehow!  Here's a "punny" birthday card I made for my dad, which are my favorite kind.   And super simple.  Mr. Turtle is from the Walk in My Garden image collection, an old favorite of mine.

Hello Summer swim layout

Happy Monday!  Have you been able to enjoy any summer fun?  It's been VERY hot in KC, so perfect weather to be in the pool for my college kids and their friends.  This summer pool layout has images from the Paper Doll Teen Scene collection plus the pool image from Miss Kate Cuttables Splish Splash collection.  Hope you are getting some sunshine and July fun and staying cool!

4th of July layout

Happy Thursday!  Are you looking forward to the 4th of July?  I am planning our traditional BBQ/pool party with the family and friends.  We've started watching the musical Hamilton together on the 4th for the last few years, which has been a really fun addition.  I know I'll be taking some photos, so I made a quick layout ahead of time mainly using images from the Artbooking collection, with the addition of a title from Create A Critter.  I hope you all get to enjoy some festivities over the 3 day weekend!

thank you cards

Happy Monday!  Spring is here, as my tulips and daffodils are in full bloom!  I was inspired to make some flower themed thank you cards, using ideas from Pinterest and some of my older SU stamp sets.  My mom and I actually made a grand total of 50 thank you cards as a wedding shower present for my niece, since she'll be writing a lot of thank you notes!  Have a great week and enjoy some crafty time!

SU Lasting Lily card

Happy Monday!  I'm attending a wedding shower for my beloved niece next weekend and am having fun making her some gifts. Here's the card that will accompany all the gifts.  I pulled out a Stampin Up set called Lasting Lily for the lilies and the sentiment is from another SU set called Beautiful Friendship.  Both these sets are from 2019 (I think).  I used my SU Stamp-aratus plates and sponge daubers to do a multicolor gradient on the lilies.  I had seen this technique on Pinterest, but never tried it myself.  While I think I could maybe have blended the colors a bit better, overall I like how it turned out.  I like a pretty envelope, so I stamped another lily with her name on it to jazz it up!

All Aboard layout

Happy Monday!  Who's ready for spring?  We had 70 degree weather....then it snowed.  Again.  But second spring is coming this week, lol!  Last week was good though, enjoying having my younger two sons home from college for spring break.

I had fun making this train layout for my scrapbook for pictures of the family riding the Amtrak from KC to Chicago in December.  We had never taken the train before and it was actually a very pleasant way to travel!  Less stressful than flying.  The train is from the CTMH You Are Here collection and the titles are all from Boys Will Be Boys.  My sons (who were all obsessed with trains as toddlers) were thrilled like little kids when the train conductor actually said All Aboard as we pulled out of the station, so that HAD to be the title, lol.  I hope everyone has a good week ahead!

Dream and Love Valentine layout

Happy Monday!  We've had a quiet week just cozied up at home!  Lots of hot tea, books, and crafty time!  And a little shopping online....I bought an image collection from Close to My Heart on cricut.com called Everyday Moments and made this pre-designed layout from it for a Valentine's Day photo.  (We had a quiet Valentine's Day romantic dinner at home with our favorite Chinese takeout, so I only took one selfie of the two of us.)  I changed the design up some, adding the Love title and extra hearts and made one of the photo mats into a journaling space instead.  It took a bit to cut all the pieces, but turned out cute!  Have a good week and notice the small special moments!

On the Slopes ski layout

Happy Monday!  I've got a ski layout to share this week.  My hubby and I went skiing in Vail last week for a much needed vacation and it is so very beautiful there!  I took some great pictures!  We had a good time right up until hubby tore his ACL, bringing our trip to an abrupt end...no more snow skiing this year.  Sigh.  At least we got some fantastic days in before the injury!  The Vail ER apparently sees this injury a lot-there were several other people with skiing knee injuries in at the same time as hubby.

I am enjoying scrapping the photos though!  I used an older paper collection from Simple Stories in 2018 called Sub Zero that I've had stashed for just the right project.  All the Cricut cuts (skis, goggles, title) are from the CTMH You Are Here image collection, which is full of travel images for all kinds of trips and is one of my favorites!  Hope you all have a wonderful week!

NYC travel layout

Happy Monday!  My college kids are home for spring break this week, so I'm looking forward to spending some time with them.  I've been doing lots of reading and crafting the last couple of weeks and completed another travel themed layout for some NYC pictures.  Why is cutting out cute little yellow cab die cuts so ridiculously fun?  The yellow cab was making me laugh the whole time I put it together.  It's from the Beep Beep image collection (the name also makes me laugh!) and I found the NYC icon on cricut access.  Here's hoping you all have a good week too!

snowflake thank you card

Happy Friday!  With the end of the BBTB2 blog (where I was a design team member), I took a few week blogging break but plan to continue to share some projects a few times a month.  The hospital I work at has been absolutely crushed with covid cases in January.  It has been the most difficult point of the pandemic in KC, with record numbers of cases and deaths, overwhelming the hospital.  I've been working some extra shifts and had zero creative drive.  While things are still pretty bad, KC has crested the peak and I'm eager to get back to being creative, which is my happy therapy!

I had some post-Christmas thank you cards to send, so here is a snowflake themed card.  The snowflake is from the Winter Lace image collection.  Since Kansas City got snow this week, it felt very appropriate, lol!  I hope you all have a good week with time for some self care moments!

BBTB2 challenge with Double Trouble: layer it up with cuddly things

Happy Monday!  For the last challenge at the BBTB2 blog, we have partnered with the ladies at the Double Trouble blog for a challenge with multiple optional twists.  The 3 options include using layers, incorporating something cuddly, and using a die cut on your project.  You can share your project on the BBTB2 and Double Trouble blogs for a chance a prizes.

My cat is my main cuddle object, especially in the winter!  He was the inspiration for this cat themed card, using the cat from the Chore Chart image collection.  He likes to sit in my lap or wrap himself around my cricut (which does make it a bit challenging to craft sometimes...) and he's very soft and cuddly, although a bit of a diva in personality, lol!  You can share your project at both the BBTB2 and Double Trouble blogs for the next two weeks.
