Retro themed hello card

Happy Monday!  Our BBTB2 theme this week is to make a retro themed card.  I used the old fashioned corded telephone from the From My Kitchen cartridge for my hello card, just like the one in our house when I was a kid.  (My kids can't even conceive of such thing as a phone with NO internet connection!!!!  If it isn't an iPhone, they can't imagine why you would use one, LOL!)  I went with a kind of vintage feeling floral background print to keep my retro feel going.  The other designers have some cool retro projects for you to see over at BBTB2, so check them out.

The Big Apple NYC layout

Happy Monday!  It has been a rather busy and stressful last week, so I'm glad to be starting a new one!  And I will have a whole box of marvelous scrapbooking goodies (including the new cricut Flower Market cartridge by CTMH) to play with because it's my birthday this week!  Ideally my birthday would also be a national holiday where I could sleep in, but that MIGHT be asking a bit much, lol!

Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to use a cricut apple on a project.  I love apple season in the fall when the Honeycrisps are in our grocery store, all huge, crunchy, and delicious!!!!  However, I am scrapbooking pictures from the trip to THE Big Apple (Son#2 and I went to New York City with the high school band last spring), so I used my favorite apple from Doodlecharms as part of the title on my page.  The city landscape from Plaintain Schoolbook reminded me of the NYC skyline in Manhattan, so I added it to the bottom of the pages.  Go see all the marvelous apple projects at BBTB2 and link yours up this week.

Layout with arrows

Happy Monday!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to use either arrows or monsters on a man themed project.  I went for the arrows, as I was scrapbooking pages from my boys' trip to summer music camp.  (Music is manly, right?  My kids all turned out musical and are not into sports at all.)  I was inspired by this layout I found on Pinterest and adapted it for my project, adding some stamped phrases and changing up the color scheme, title, etc.  Check out the rest of the design team projects over at BBTB2 and get creative this week!

You can see the stamped phrases a bit better in this close up:

Tune in, Chill out layout

Happy Monday!  I hope you are enjoying the Labor Day weekend!  I unfortunately have to work tonight since the hospital is a 24/7 kind of place, but the rest of the fam are enjoying the 3 day break.  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is to use eye glasses on a project.  It's supposed to be a hot and sunny 90 degrees here in KC today and for the rest of the week, so my end of summer layout has some sunglasses and tunes from the vintage radio cut to spice up these last days in the pool before fall is upon us.  All the cuts are from the Surburbia cartridge.  Go see a variety of glasses over at BBTB2 from the design team and link up your project there.
