I made some Halloween surprises for the guys to get with their candy stash: a monster, cool cat, and gravestone (for my teen, who is too cool for cute now) that I made with the card feature on the Mini Monsters cart. I had not tried the card feature, but it's easy to use and layer. A few word additions and some pen work and I think they are a winner, at least I hope the boys think so! (We always have a special candy stash to give the kids on Halloween, as one of my kids has nut allergies, so we trade out most of the unsafe candy received while trick or treating for nut-safe candy. All the trick or treat candy goes straight into a bag for Dad's workplace to enjoy.)
Cricut:
Mini-Monsters-creatures and gravestone
Learning Curve-font for BOO and cool cat
Happy Hauntings-font for Zombie
Embossing with some of my Sizzix and Cuttlebug folders
I'm going to link the cat to the BBTB2, which was featuring a Halloween theme with Hello Kitty. I don't have that cart, but this Halloween cat turned out pretty cute (I reversed his mouth so he would look happy). I'm also going to link to Fantabulous Cricut, where the project is Purple People Eater, using purple and a monster or bug. Forget the bug, I'm sticking with monsters!

Playing in the Surf
I started this layout over a year ago, and never finished it!!! So, the challenge at TPV to use an ocean/nautical theme got me to dig back in the box and complete it. (Now I need to do the rest of the stack in there too....) This uses Stretch Your Imagination and Life as a Beach. I had not tried the silhouette cuts from SYI before this, and while they were hard to glue down, they came out looking cool. I had a lot of pics to get on this layout! It was a very cool cloudy day and the pics reflect that, so I struggled a bit to find paper that would work.
Cricut:

Life as a Beach-font
Paper-from JoAnns, don't know the line
twine, jumbo java chalk ink

Treat bag topper
I'm starting to plan for the parties at school (fortunately, I'm not in charge of Halloween!) and needed to come up with a treat bag topper that was easy to mass produce for the class. Doodlecharms to the rescue! I'm going to enter this in The Pink Stamper's challenge to come up with a treat container for any holiday or occasion. I made two to show the room mom what I had in mind.

Giving Thanks
I am very thankful for all the many blessings we have been given. God has been amazingly wonderful to my family. I made this layout using Celebrate with a Flourish and SYI, about last Thanksgiving. I'm linking it to the Give Thanks challenge at Creative Cutter Room. (I must say looking at the pictures with all the pies has made me feel like I need some pie right now!)

Stretch Your Imagination-leaves
Plaintain Schoolbook-circles
Paper-DCVW fall stack (old)

My mom, best friend, and I took a vacation day from our real lives and spent ALL day yesterday making Christmas Cards! So much fun! Here is a pic of some of the stack:
Above is one I made, using my new Big Kick with some Christmas embossing folders. The paper, ribbon, and stamp is from SU.
