baby book-Easter page

Here is the Easter page for the baby book I'm making (as a gift for someone).  The other pages I've done so far can be found under the mini album tag.  The bunny baby on Simply Charmed is just too cute!!!  The eggs and basket are from Doodlecharms and the funny bunny title is from 3 Birds on Parade.  I'm mainly using Doodlecharms and Simply Charmed for the book, so that the pages will have a similar feel.  I'm going to link this to the Fantabulous Cricut challenge this week to use purple, green, and turquoise on a project.

Don't forget to check out the post below this for my 50 followers blog candy give-away.

Ready, Set Play layout

Can I just confess that I love Echo Park paper?  I got the Little Boy paper pack and the paper is SO fun!  The title for this layout is from the Boys Will Be Boys cart and the stars are from Plaintain Schoolbook.  I have pictures of my boys with Lego creations  that are going to go on here.

bookclub layout

This layout features my bookclub friends at our favorite meeting of the year, where we pick the books for next year.  It's always lively and loud, as we have lunch together and talk books.  I used paper from Simple Stories Destination line for the background and the Locker Talk cart for the stack of books.  The "bookclub" font is Nate's ABCs.  The small letters were stickers that came with the paper, and spells out our goofy bookclub name: SMOAUF (which stands for slightly modern, often american, usually fiction, since we are kind of eclectic in our selections).

Don't forget to check out the post  about a chance to win blog candy to celebrate 50 followers!

It's Your Bird-day! card

This card is for a blog friend's birthday, so STOP reading now Hanneke, or you will see your card (since it may still be in the mail)!  I made a shaped card (for the Cricut Creative Cutter Room challenge) from Birthday Bash, and used one of the cute birdies from 3 Birds on Parade (my current cartridge obsession).  The sentiment stamps are from the My Pink Stamper set Punny-licious.  I also did a little stamping on the envelope and broke out my colored pencils, so the outside would have a pretty surprise as well as the inside!  That stamp is from a Stampin Up set I've had for a long time called A Flower for all Seasons.

"Spring" wall hanging

I've been dying to really dive into my Nate's ABCs cartridge, so I made a wall hanging for my foyer with a spring theme.  It will be inside a frame, but the glass gave too much glare so I had to photograph it by itself without the frame.  I am also going to link to the BBTB2 challenge this week to do a project with boots from Nate's ABCs.

Cricut:
Nate's ABCs-all cuts
Paper-Doodlbug Seasons Stack for the background papers, cardstock from my stash

Thought I'd add one more pic of it hanging up-sorry about the glare on the glass!

Egyptian Mummy

This layout uses the My World cart, which has all kinds of cool historical and travel type images.  My kids have actually used it a lot for school projects, as there a number of images of famous historical figures on it, like Lewis and Clark, for example.  My layout contains pictures we took at a museum exhibit of an Eygptian mummy (my kids were VERY intrigued by this).   The font is Plaintain Schoolbook, but all other cuts are from My World.

Sweet Memories-baking cookies

This layout is for some pics of baking yummy cookies with one of my boys.   Mmmm!    I used Winter Frolic for the cookies, journal box, and Sweet Memories title, plus Baby Steps for the baking cookies font.  I really like the cursive font on the Baby Steps cart.  The patterned paper is from the Bo Bunny Blitzen collection, plus some Bo Bunny double dot paper for the solids.

Glee (fly free) layout

Are there any Glee fans out there?  Son#2 went to a "Gleek in training" Saturday workshop and you would not believe how many kids there were!!!!  About 180!  Clearly the show has made singing and show choir more popular.  He had a blast, learning several numbers (with choreography) and then the kids performed them in a concert at the end of the day.

One of the numbers was "Blackbird", with lots of flying type arm movements, which prompted my title.  (Plus the title rhymed-I'm kind of a sucker for rhyming)  One of the district's show choirs performed some numbers with a sweethearts theme, since this was right before Valentine's Day, so that gave me an excuse to use my Valentine paper and a sweet butterfly and ladybug from Simply Charmed.  My little gleek has been driving us crazy this week singing ALL the the songs, ALL the time, causing his brothers to clamor for some peace and quiet (or what passes for peace and quiet when you have 3 boys, lol).

Life's Sweet birthday card

This birthday card is for the Exploring Cricut challenge "It's so Sweet".  I pulled out some paper from my Party Time Stack by My Mind's Eye and rounded up stamps from three different sets (guess I was in the mood for some variety) for some ice cream cone sweetness from Simply Charmed.

strings (music concert)

Son #1 played in another concert at the winter strings clinic (where they learn new music and play it in a concert at the end of the day).  The wonderful music background papers are from The Paper Studio that I found at Hobby Lobby.  I used Quarter Note for all the cuts, offsetting some of the layers to make it all show up better, since I was only using black and white.

Monkey Business

This layout almost finishes up Son#2's birthday pics, from the infamous sock monkey party!  There was much goofing around with all the sock monkeys, some of which I got pictures of.  So what else could I title this page but "Monkey Business"?   The super fun paper is more of the Cheekee Monkey stack I got at Hobby Lobby.  (refer back to the "I'm bananas 4 you" post to see pics of the party guests using the bananas as cell phones for the sock monkeys while eating cake and ice cream!).

we go together

This card is for my number one sweetie, my husband!  We went to Disney last summer and he bought me a pin of Mickey and Minnie together for me to wear as a surprise during the trip-kind of romantic, don't you think?  So his valentine is from the Mickey and Friends cartridge, of ...Mickey and Minnie!  I used some more of the glitter paper from my $1 bin Target find and the glitter hearts are from the awesome give away package I got from Diane at Exploring Cricut, as are the Studio G stickers inside.

baby book-"My First Holidays" (first few pages)

So I'm working on a Baby's First Holidays mini album as a gift for a baby shower (which is awhile away, thank goodness), and I got the first few pages done.  The person this is going to is not a scrapper, so I made the mini 6x8 so she can easily put in 4x6 pictures on the photo mats.  (I've found non-scrappers generally don't print any size photos other than the standard 4x6.)  I'm sort of planning it on the fly as I go, but I am mainly going to use Doodlecharms and Simply Charmed.  I'm sure some other carts will sneak in though, before I'm finished.  (Actually, I just realized the Snow Days is from 3 Birds on Parade!)

I'm going to link this to the challenge at SOUS this week:  "You've Got Mail", since the Valentine page fits perfectly, with the envelope and mailbox for baby's first valentine.

A Surprise came in the mail!!!!

I got drawn to win at the Exploring Cricut challenge and a huge package of goodies arrived at my door in the mail this week!  What a nice surprise!  My package contained all kinds of Valentine goodness from Studio G, including a paper pack, stickers, 2 colors of stickle, decorative brads, and more!  And best of all?  Diane from Exploring Cricut had filled a cute little treat envelope full of Dove chocolate hearts!  (That part is a secret, because I didn't share.  Those babies disappeared like they were never here!)

Thank you Diane!!!  I always enjoy their daily projects and challenges at Exploring Cricut-so check it out.

music to my ears

I checked out the blog hop on My Pink Stamper tonight and decided to try the challenge!  I had planned to make a  mini 3x3 card for Son #2 (who sings and plays piano, hence the music theme) for his lunchbox next week, so I incorporated the challenge elements:  use red, a circle, a pink ribbon, a diecut, and 2 different stamps!  I used the Music Speaks stamp set by My Pink Stamper (I love this set!) and Lunchbox Thoughts for the I love you (love this set too).

Super-tweet!

I've been a little obsessed with 3 Birds on Parade...as in I can't stop using it because it's so darn cute!  This birthday card will be for one of my nephews, with the super-hero bird, complete with mask and cape.  The background paper is from the My Mind's Eye Party Time stack.
